Loving The Lawyer: (A Steamy Romance Short Story)

An awesome story downloaded for free on Amazon. Brooke is a driven lawyer fighting to make partner with the law firm she has worked for years. She doesn't date and doesn't have one night stands in an effort to remain spotless so that she can compete in a men's world. There is an amorous DA who is hounding her but she keeps refusing. Then her friend of many years who was a lawyer working for free or very low income passed away in an auto accident gets her to thinking. What is she working so hard for. She decides to take a sabbatical from her office. Her boss tries to threaten her with not getting partner even though she has proved herself but she sticks to her guns. On a plane flight to Paris handsome Lance a pilot sees her and arranges to change with a person in first class to sit next to her. They talk some and Brooke is feeling things she never felt before. In her effort to cut loose and be wild like her friend, she lets the Pilot kiss her and during their teasing she says something to the effect if only they weren't in public. Lance gets up and talks to the stewardess and then tells Brooke to come with him. He takes her to the pilots sleeping quarters above the cockpit and makes mad fantastic love to her. She is driven to distraction and he keeps on going. Then when they are finally sated he asks her where she is staying in Paris. She said she didn't know, she would just walk around and pick a place. Lance invited her to stay with him in his hotel. End of part one. Steamy sex scene and adult situations not meant for minors. But a very good story. I hope that I can get part 2 and 3 since there probably is one. Most of the time when a book is free there is 2 or 3 parts or more in the series. It definately left me wanting to read the rest.

This is a romance tale of a female lawyer, Brooke, who had devoted all of her time to her law firm with the hope that she would soon be made a partner. Another lawyer tried to have a relationship with her, but she refused because she was only interested in her career.Then her friend Helena is killed by a drunk driver. Her friend was a better lawyer than she, but while Brooke joined a law firm in the big city with her future in mind, her friend moved west, joined a firm aiding needy people, lived in a small dwelling, swam daily in the ocean, and enjoyed life.Helena’s death makes her reconsider her priority. She tells her boss that she needs to take a sabbatical for two months. She ignores his threat that such a long absence would hurt her chance at achieving a partnership. She arranges a flight to Paris. While on the plane she meets a pilot who moved from first class to sit next to him, and the situation changes.

Brooke Addison is on the fast track to make partner at her law firm. When her best girl friend from law school dies Brooke decides life is too short and thinks it’s time to take a sabbatical from work to live hers. Okay, good premise, but then the storyline starts to spiral in a downhill direction. She decides on a whim to go to Paris, books a flight, but not a hotel and doesn’t have any plans once she arrives there. She’s an intelligent attorney who is about to make partner and all of a sudden she exercises such poor judgment that she needs to be arrested by the “Bad Decision Police”. Spoiler Alert: She has sex with a man she’s just met who sits next to her on the plane, ON THE PLANE! All he had to do was kiss her, and she tells him she “wants him”. Since he’s introduced himself to her as a pilot going to a business conference (presumably for the airline, the author leaves it up to you decide), they end up in an overhead sleeping compartment above the flight deck. (It’s like going up in an attic, I don’t know if this actually exists on a plane or not). After Lance, the pilot, talks to a flight attendant, in the back presumably to make the arrangements not to be disturbed, he takes her above to join the Mile High Club where airline personnel can stretch out and sleep on a couple of cots. Initially, I thought this story had potential, but it’s not developed, and it’s a cliffhanger. You are encouraged to buy the “boxed set” of all 3 stories for $3.99 which consists of just 124 pages for all 3 books in its entirety. I won’t be doing that nor in good conscious recommend this book/series to anyone else to do the same. The author Kelly Young shows promise, but needs to realize this isn’t the way to build up or keep a fan base.

Don't expect any plot what so ever with this book. It is a short, 30-40 minute fantasy read. If you want a quick HOT, HOT, HOT FANTASY read, I say 'go for it'! If you've ever gotten on a plane and found your self seated next the hottest guy you have ever seen and found yourself fantasizing about the situation, this book is for you.So with no other expectations than that the book was pretty well written, I did feel like I got a sense of the female character, Brooke, from the first part of the book but then it jumps into the 'Oh My Freaking Hell' fantasy. This isn't a HEA book. Just an 'in the moment' fantasy.You don't have to read the 2nd or 3rd book to feel like you wrap things up as they take place later on.

I really liked this short story, but I wasn't aware until I was at the end that it's part one of a three part serial. And while this one was free, to get parts two and three you have to pay at least $4.00 for only about 40 pages each (set price, individually they're $2.99 each). That's pretty expensive compared to other serials being offered. Especially when you consider the page length. This is my reason or not giving a 5 star rating.I honestly liked the characters. I absolutely loved Lance and the scene in the plane is pretty hot. You can tell he's really a great guy and just perfect for Brooke. It's interesting and keeps you intrigued until the end.Not sure if I'll buy the remaining books because of price.

An erotic short story with an almost-plausible plot, a strong female character who got my attention right away. The event which rocked her boat was realistic and her reaction to it, a willingness to take risks and actually start living, rang true. At the end of the story, I was disappointed that there wasn't more to come. I wanted to follow the adventures and development of the character. And enjoy more of her sexy escapades...

Brooke Anderson is a very successful lawyer and when her best friend dies she realises she has never lived. She is takes sabbatical leave and heads of to Paris. On the flight over she meets Lance and from their on she starts having fun. Liked the characters and storyline. Book is a quick read as it is not too long. Good read.

Only four stars given as it wasn't long enough. Quite sexy and could have really got into this book. Noticed that further books available but a bit expensive for these short stories. Good author though.
