It’s just about 2” long. It slides freely on the chain.

Q: Can I use my own necklace?

Possibly. I mean, it's just a tube so if your clasp and chain/necklace isn't too big then yeah.

Q: I need a 20 - 21" length, does the bar come off that I could replace with my own chain? or can you make longer?

The bar does not come off. You could get a chain extender. It only does the two lengths, which are 16” and 18”. I do love it. Great quality.
