Inexpensive knife, quality is so so, and the price does reflect that, but it's worth it to rep the eagle, globe and anchor
I researched the knife, and it's officially licensed. And for $13, I gotta be honest, I wasn't expecting much. That said, if not for the sloppy finish, I would have given the knife five stars. The blade is made of decent metal, easy to sharpen and holds an edge. The serrations are nice and sharp, and I really dig the blade shape. I can't speak as to how well the finish holds up, as I just got the knife, and really wasn't expecting it to be an edc, I purchased it more out of nostalgia than anything else, and couldn't pass it up on price alone once I found out it was officially licensed. The lanyard is not really functional, more for aesthetics, so I took mine off.The assisted open works well, a bit stiff, but I should add, this is the only assisted knife I own that I can open with the thumb stud alone, usually it's more for looks or legal reasons and you can really only open the knife with the flipper, because it's to hard to get past the knifes built in bias towards closed.... This knife, Just a nudge on the thumb stud and the knife opens just like you triggered the flipper, I like that. The handle is made of a rubber type material, and surprisingly, it's not real grippy, it's actually kind of slippery in the hand, and really thick, thicker than I'd like for an edc knife. Plus, the rubber grip isn't conducive to quick deployment, it grips the inside of your pocket better in fact than your hand.Where the knife let me down was fit and finish. As any Marine worth his salt will tell you, it's attention to detail that is one of the hallmarks of being a Marine. And on my knife, when you turn the knife on its side, you can see daylight through the scales, I don't know if it's because of the rubber handles, or how they were fitted, but the attention to detail on this knife is sorely lacking, there were also flecks on the blade, from the finishing coat, almost like grains of sand were on the blade when it was coated and got trapped underneath the finish. Not a big deal on a $13 knife, but to me, when you put the Marine Corps emblem on something, it should be worthy of it.That said, I still like the knife, but it won't be a collectors piece, I'm gonna beat the hell out of it, than maybe the imperfections won't be as glaring, or maybe I'll refinish it with different scales....After all, it was only $13Semper FiCorporalUSMC89-93

A rigid and sturdy knife
I won't get into comparing a ten dollar knife with that of knives costing fifty to hundred dollars — that would be entirely unfair, wouldn't you agree? Please allow me to explain to you what the knife is worth for its price.First of all, you cannot go wrong with this knife for what it is worth. I have taken this to field work, camping, survival camping, river, etc., and when I take the knife to the wild, I use it extensively. By that, I am talking about hammering the blade down with a rock to chop fresh trees — legally, I chop trees when I am camping, only if allowed — because of the weather cold at night in the wilds. The trees must be cut earlier in the day for it to dry under the sun. Otherwise, fresh trees are tough to catch on fire). However, there is a caveat. This knife is not meant to be around high temperature such as fire. As mean and rigid looking this knife may be, the handle on this sucker is made up of some sort of rubberish material. I suppose this would be ideal for grasping and grip, but it is certainly not the best for withstanding heat. So, if you are looking for a knife that you can use for your survival camping, then look for those with hard plastics (not the cheap ones) or silicon rubber handles so that you won't end up with a knife without a handle.Again, as I said, you cannot go wrong with this knife for what it is worth, and it is a good deal.

Excellent Durable Knife With Just a Few Drawbacks
Pros:Very Sturdy ConstructionBalanced (but heavy - see below)Easy To OpenTactical ClipCons:Slightly HeavyTactical Clip Makes Holding Slightly AwkwardThis knife is a great value of the money. My only two reservations are the weight (it's quite heavy) and the tactical clip makes holding slightly awkward. I'm sure I'll get used to the clip after a time, but the first couple of grips did not feel as solid as knives without the clip. The clip is awesome though if you have any kind of tactical webbing or mounting system. It's a strong clip that has multiple pressure points. The construction is very durable with machined torx screws and a 440 C SS steel blade. The spring assisted blade makes opening it a breeze - so easy in fact that you should be careful the first time you open it. It opens much quicker than a non-assisted knife. It still biases to closed once you move past the spring resistance and won't open from gravity alone.

Construction grade Quality knife
I like everything about this knife. The only thing I didn’t like was that the belt clip was on the wrong side of the knife. It ended up breaking off when it got caught on the couch when getting up. That was my bad. Anyways I removed it with a either a star but or hex bit. Now to remove the knife from my pocket I leave the cord hanging out my back pocket to get it out. The cord is on the correct side of the knife. It serves its purpose and has held up for over a year. It’s my everyday carry and I work construction. It’s pretty sturdy and can be adjusted if needed with the right hex or star but. The grip is probably the best thing I like about it. So far so good for $10 I would definitely buy again

Great knife, great price!
I was skeptical about this knife but I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of it. It's a meaty knife. Feels great in the hand. The spring assist is quick and locks securely into place. No issues with the lock. Sometimes with lower priced knives, the lock sticks a lot. Not with this one. The lanyard is a nice touch but not something I will keep on it, and the skull head jingle is a little hokey, but these things are all removable. The knife itself is quite nice. I'm definitely purchasing a 2nd one for my son.
