A Light in the Window (The Mitford Years)

Strong follow up
This is a great second installment following on the heels of At Home in Mitford. It has more antagonistic forces, and Father Tim must deal with more challenging inner conflicts. As always, it was delightfully told. Highly recommend.

Excellent book series
This was one of my favorite books in the series, thus far. I laughed, I cried, and I could picture Father Tim and Cynthia in my mind. It’s Christian fiction at its best!

The most moving and joyful books!
Ms Karon has created a certain joy in my life with the first two books of the Mitford series. I can’t wait to be able to sit down and read some more. The casual manor of her writing, with details that add so much to the story are great. The parts of the book that allow me a smile or a laugh, or the more tender parts that allow a tear or two, are just great in her writing. Already looking forward to book three!

Very sweet
I'm reading this series for the 2nd time, and it's been so long since I first read them a lot seems brand new. I love the characters, the pace of life in Mitford, and the kindness of most of the people.

Reading Book 2 (and all) of the Mitford Series is like coming home.
I'm rating "At Home in Mitford," and "A Light in the Window" five stars although I think they deserve ten stars+ . The Mitford Series through each of it's books is a beautiful story set in a small town. I love everything about this town and novels. It is a clean book. It is about a town with fascinating characters who are like family. "Mitford takes care of it's own" - which is something our country currently could learn to do better. If you are yearning for a relaxing book(s) to read about a town that treats each other like family during the pandemic - this is it. There is plenty of action, romance, etc to keep you entertained. This series has 14 books, and when I read the last word on the last page, I will be heartbroken. I may start all over from the beginning. I know I will read this series several times over. Reading a Mitford book is truly like coming home. I recommend the Mitford Series for people of all ages. My Dad loved this series. That is how I started reading this series. It makes me feel close to my Dad. Then after starting "At Home In Mitford," it became a love affair for life. I can't praise the Mitford Series enough. It is not to be missed.

Points of Interest
The books themselves are the absolute best. Have read series over and over, from real books, and never tire of doing so. However, very disappointed in so many typos in the ebooks. Hope newbys to series realize it isn't Jan's fault.

Delightful series
A light in the Window is the second book in the Mitford series. It’s a most enjoyable read as it follows the everyday trials and tribulations of Father Tim , Milford’s rector and lifelong bachelor. It’s both heartwarming and humorous. A lovely way to lose yourself in delightful book. I would suggest you read the first in the series, At Home in Mitford, to acquaint yourself with the characters and life in the small town of Mitford. This book carries on from there.

thoroughly enjoyable
This is the second novel by Jan Karon in the Mitford Series. I continue to enjoy this series very much. Jan Karon has a wonderful way of weaving her stories so that before long, I begin to feel I know the people well enough that they could actually be of my acquaintance in real life. I appreciate the humour that she uses in her storytelling. This novel is another warm, inviting and thoroughly enjoyable and well-written work by Karon. I recommend it to all who welcome reading an entertaining, light-hearted, yet deeply touching story.
