Ideally priced all the metal work you need to fit a gate. Latch looks good and I recommend some grease behind the handle plates to prevent rusting. Yes the screws are not black but nothing a spot of paint will not hide.... or black screws. Hinges look robust but like any moving metal part left outside benefit from the occasional spot of oil to prolong them. We'll within the capability of any DIYer to fit. Good value and look great.

Bought for a new back gate, great quality item, quite sturdy and reasonably easy to fit. The replacement screws, although silver were of a good standard so didn't require me buying new.If I was designing these I'd make the top edge of the hinge straight and not tapered so that a level could sit on top.

These are great value for money so don't approach them thinking they're also as good quality as more expensive alternatives. I think they're designed to do the job, in the short term (3-4 years I'd guess) and there's plenty of cases where that is necessary.I fitted the hinges, handles and latch last autumn they've held up well over the winter without any warping or damage. The screws have already started to rust a little bit which is disappointing but that's an easy replacement so not a big deal for me.Overall, not high-end quality but good value for money.

I purchased this set of furniture as recommended with the garden gate I purchased. No fitting instructions were provided. I needed to drill a hole through the gate to accommodate the Latch Spindle, the obvious place was through the centre cross beam of the gate on its centreline. On drilling this hole I found that an unexpected and misaligned hardened steel fixing screw within the gate framework was in line with the required position and, which complicated this simple task. I also found that the spindle was too long for the thickness of the gate and needed to be cut shorter. The latch is fitted onto the square spindle driver and is fitted to the gate via a rotatable fixing plate which is held in place with a washer and circlip. I subsequently found that this is easily popped by a slight misalignment and, falls off, if the spindle projects too far in front of the fixing surface when fitting. As a qualified design engineer I was able to determine that the circlip retaining groove on the driver was not properly manufactured. What should be a straight forward installation has become complicated.

strong enough for the wooden gate

The hinges and the bolt - brilliant. They've held my gate in place for some time now and haven't rusted yet. The handle however is a different story. The first night it was on the gate, a very loud, high pitch squeak started. It seems the slightest breeze set this thing off. It was driving me and the neighbours nuts! For a few days, I just couldn't figure out where the noise was coming from. When I eventually figured out it was the handle, I removed it - I now have a handle-less gate, but I, and the neighbours, have had a good night's sleep ever since.
