Tonka Classic Steel Fire Engine Vehicle

"Santa" got this truck for my 4 year old son this Christmas. He absolutely loves it and has barely stopped playing with it since Christmas morning. A few things that you should know:-It is not completely made of steel. The front "cab" part of the truck is metal, the rest of the truck is thick plastic. I know many people have a problem with this, but having an active 4 year old boy I feel this is a bit safer for him so I am 100% AOK with this. Also, the front is the part that will be "crashed" the most so it makes sense that it is the most durable part of the truck.-It is BIG. When ordering I knew it would be big, but I suppose I did not prepare myself for how big. We have a small house, so.... Anyway, when the ladder on top is extended it reaches probably about 3 feet high. My son loves that "it's almost as big as me!" At least it isn't as big as the stupid Paw Patrol fire truck that he wanted.-The ladder on top extends quite a bit but will separate when over extended. My son can easily put it back together and it seems that it was designed this way. Believe me, this is a good thing. In my experience this is the first thing to break so the fact that it is designed to come apart and be able to be put back together is genius on Tonka's part.-The two ladders on either side are removable. They are thick plastic so it would take some effort to break them. They will probably be lost before they get broken.Overall it's a great toy. Being a preschool teacher and mom to young children I've seen my fare share of firetruck toys and this is a great one. I expect that it will last for years to come. Very pleased with my purchase.

Exactly what I'd hoped it would be. Yes, the box on the truck is plastic but the cab is metal and it does not make any noises. None of that really matters to me because the 3 y/o who received it absolutely loves it and still plays with it all the time three months after I got it for him. As for the lack of sound effects, I would much rather listen to his sound effects than some cheap electronic noise.

My son loves Tonka trucks and Fire trucks so this was a great pick for him. He is also very rough on his toys and he has had this truck for 2 months now. All the parts are still attached and everything working great, not even any scratches (he has even tried to sit on and drive this truck in the driveway). The two ladders on the side of the truck can be removed from the truck and the top ladder extends to twice the size. My son likes to put some of his other firefighter characters in the cab of this truck. It is larger then we expected so it is great for playing with outside in the sand although it can not be left outside or used in water because of the sticker decals on the sides of the truck. The truck looks exactly as it is pictured online with the bright fire truck red and decals on the sides as well as details in the plastic. The cab of the truck is metal and the rest of the truck is made of sturdy plastic. This is a great pick for any kids who love firetrucks, even my 7 year old plays with this truck. I would highly recommend this!

I purchased this for my 3 year old. He loves it. It is very large. The description is a little misleading as it is mostly plastic and hardly any steel at all. After 3 months my son has not broken off anything.

Let me start by saying, I buy Tonka toys for my grandbabies for every holiday and birthday. I was disappointed in the quality of the fire truck. My grandson asked for this for Christmas, and he loves it, but the quality that I have come to expect from Tonka is just not there. I'm praying that it last.

This truck is awesome! My son has a Tonka digger and dump truck from the same line for a year now and they have held up great, I'm anticipating and expecting the same quality with this fire truck. The look of this truck is awesome! In the pictures it looks a little bit short and bulky kind of like a rural fire engine for battling brush fires (not that that's not a cool looking rig it's just that I wanted a "classic" style), that is not the case. This truck is a nice, shiny, and sleek fire engine ready for some great imaginative play involving putting out fires and rescuing Barbie from her burning town home, LOL! My boy is going to love is new Fire truck!

I don't like the name steel in the title, it is misleading.

It is a well build sturdy Toy that the kids ride on as much as they they play with .

Its an awesome realistic fire truck. Its big enough and strong enough for my grandson to ride on and turned out to be his favourite Christmas present. We played firemen for hours 🙂

Brilliant size and a good price. My son will love it. As a lot of people have said there is no steel just plastic, bit of a let down.
