My BRILLIANT idea was hide these Royal Pine air fresheners in my fake Christmas tree to make it smell like a real tree (Which I can't have because my cats eat pine needles). I'm not sure what scent the air fresheners are, but they do NOT smell like pine trees. It's NOT that they smell bad (The scent is fine for such a product), they just don't have that real Christmas tree scent that I had hoped they would have.The scent does last longer if you follow the little bit out of the wrapper at a time instructions. HOWEVER, I don't have the time or inclination for the slow release method. After a few days of trying it (The slow release method), I just ripped the wrapper off. Going straight to the total wrapper removal seems to result in discernable scent for about a week.

Love the smell but these trees are out of scent in a few days.

It does it's job well. I actually am using these outside, out of all places. I use it to prevent bears from coming near my bird feeder, and they were really active in October and November. I put one of these out to wait for them to go into hibernation, and it's held up shockingly well, despite rain, wind, and the elements. Highly recommend.
