This is a good book on building waterfalls and using water plants for added effect in your garden. My wife and I became inspired after reading this book to with the help of our nephew to install a waterfall and a stream going through our landscaping to add some water sounds off our back deck.As work progresses you really get excited and soon we will see the finished water feature winding through hostas and daylilies. Get this book and get inspired to have a waterfall in your yard! My wife and I finished the waterfall late last spring. We got some different size rocks and put them around the waterfall and stream and finished off with landscape gravel for stream bed and from the big rocks all the way around a new deck I built for enjoying the waterfall, around the waterfall and stream we planted daylilies and hosta with some sedum. This year the waterfall is beautiful!! We installed low voltage lights so we can watch the waterfall from the 11x22 deck at night!! This book inspired all of this!!! Even a picture could not catch the beauty!! I would recommend this book very happily after what this book has done to transform our back yard into a paradise!!!

A good book for planning with lots of details to consider in the plan. If you want instructions on making a water garden, you'll need a second book for that. It has some instructions suitable for someone who already can make a water feature, such as "make sure your waterfall doesn't leak." How? It has lots of photos to inspire you and is a good basic book to own, and costs as much as a magazine, so a good value.

This is an ok book on water features . Not as visually appealing as I want but descriptive enough to use for managing the installation of a water feature. I have purchased many books on water in the landscape (over20) and I have come to realize there is no definitive book on water features. The idea here is to get ideas and to apply them. You will never regret a perfectly installed and sited water feature.

We feel fortunate to have this book because we are small scale water gardeners, and our many garden books do not have much information about water gardening.Juanita Henry
