Great sturdy toy

This was a gift to my neighbors little boy for his birthday. He loved the truck. Tonka toys have been around for a long time because they are well made and absolutely adorable. My brother played with them when he was a little guy and I trust them to give as gifts because they are well constructed and never been recalled as far as I know.

I purchased this truck for my 2 1/2 yo grandson for Christmas. This was 1 of 3 Tonka toys I bought.The size was perfect for his age. I measured it before I purchased it to ensure it wasn't too big. It is constructed of some steel & some plastic parts, not all steel but what toys are now? It looks like it is put together well - I guess time playing with it will be the test on durability.

Our son pushes his Tonka all through the yard. The axels on other toys break in no time, but these are thick and sturdy! Frame is solid and durable. Only problem is the winch doesn't stay wound up when not in use, it drags.

My son played with this truck literally the whole day when I gave it to him for his 3rd bday. There are a couple of weird things with it: the wheels pop in and out on the rims, so when we took it out of the box, they were popped in and rubbed against the body. At first I thought it was defective because the wheels wouldn't turn properly and was thinking of returning it, but they can easily be popped back into place. The second weird feature has been mentioned by other reviewers: the winch. It's a piece of crap. There's no resistance on the axle, so after winding it up, it will just fall to the ground under its own weight. I removed it (it's only tied on with a little knot) about 2 minutes after taking it out of the box. That's the reason I give it 4 stars. These are a couple of issues I didn't have to deal with on our other similar-sized, all-plastic toys that were one-tenth the cost.Other than that, I can't argue with how much my son loves the thing. He literally wants to sleep with it, sit at the table with it, watch TV with it in his lap, etc.

Inicialmente tuve mis dudas por algunos comentarios, pero me arriesgué y hace un par de meses lo compré.Es un vehículo con carcasa de metal y con base plastica de alta densidad.Mi hijo tiene 1.5 años y abusa del juguete y ha tenido un desempeño extraordinario.100% recomendado.Oportunidad de mejora: el gancho para halar otros juguetes se desprende con facilidad, uno lo termina quitando, el fabricante debe mejorar el diseño de ese gancho.Comprelo sin ningun temor.

What can I really say? It is a Tonka and made well. Tonka uses more plastic in their construction of these toys then they use too, but it is still a metal body, metal axles, and Tonka quality. Your kid(s) will love it!

got for my grandson, he seems to like it,,,,looks almost like the old Tonka trucks of days gone by,,,,without all the plastic,,,,,,

Good toy

This was a santa gift and it was fantastic son loved playing with it and really strong and sturdy
