It works.
After a recent household move the original charge cord for my Suunto Traverse is in a box somewhere which kept me from wearing the watch for months. I finally looked on Amazon and found both an original and a less expensive version. I didn't want to spend much since the original is only temporarily lost. This one connects to the watch just fine and charges fine. I've only used it once so far so can't say how reliable it will be.

Works as a charger, but not for connecting Ambit 3 to computer
This works fine as a charger for the watch, but doesn't serve for connecting my Suunto Ambit 3 Peak to the computer for data transfer and configuration. Disappointing, because a lot of the watch configuration is done via the interface on the computer -- so there are many things I simply can't do. Fortunately I can still sync my data via Bluetooth, but I wouldn't buy this again -- since I was after something which would also work for data transfer/configuration, not just as a charger.

This works great with my Ambit 3 Vertical. Would recommend to anyone who needs a replacement charger.
