Fair World: A History of World's Fairs and Expositions from London to Shanghai 1851-2010

Not even a fair book
Fair World by Paul Greenhalgh was a disappointment. The book is poorly organized and doesn't seem to follow any sequence or order. If you want to learn about a particular fair or expo, the only way is to look in the index then pick one of many pages scattered throughout the book. Even then, it is hard to find anything meaningful about a particular event. The photos are sparse and at best mediocre. The chapter titles, Money, Politics and the Masses or The Meaning of Art, for example, seem hardly related to why most people would purchase this book. I would not recommend this book to anyone really interested in enjoying the history of world's Farsi and expos.

This has to be the new definitive book on world fairs and well chosen fairs to provide additional detail. An amazing book.
