Elementary Number Theory and Its Application, 6th Edition

The book arrived in great condition!

This is the "a la carte" version so it is not a bound book. It has two hole punches, so it fits kind awkwardly in a 3-ring binder. The benefit is that I can just take half of the book with me to class & it lays flat on the table. However, the hole-punches are not reinforced, so don't expect to be able to re-sell it in my opinion. They rip easily. If you need the 6th edition, this is it. The other editions will not have exactly the same homework problems.

It’s a book. It’s electronic. If you’re looking for anything more, why are you here? On a more serious note- no issues getting it to my kindle app or with the content. Solid purchase.

This book does have some additional exercises, compared to the fifth edition. But it also seems like they just cranked it out without proofreading it at all. It lists changes from the fifth edition: "More attention than ever before has been paid to ensuring the accuracy of this edition. Two independent accuracy checkers have examined the entire text and the answers to exercises." This amuses me. There are numerous errors and typos. In some example problems it might say something like: see theorem #.##, and when you look for this theorem, it has nothing to do with the example, because they didn't update the number from the 5th edition.In conclusion, the publisher should pay more attention to accuracy, instead of publishing new editions of the book to make more money.As a side note, this is the only number theory book I've read, so I don't know how it compares to other number theory books.

If not already studying math and having the necessary prerequisites, this book can be heavy to get into. You are immediately confronted with excercises that can be very challenging and only every second is answered. On the other hand, if getting used to the complexity, the presentation is very compact and relieve you of unnecessary smalltalk.
