I'll admit there were a few 1 star reviews that made me hesitate before I bought these, but I am really glad I ignored them. They were a little larger than what I thought they would be, but honestly I didn't check the product dimensions carefully. I'm uploading a picture so you can see the relative size to a pack of playing cards and the rubber seal.Complaint #1 others had: Too much salt comes out.My opinion: Can you get more out than one of those classic shakers that has 3 tiny holes? Yes you can, but I find those shakers frustrating when hardly anything ever comes out after shaking for a minute. Unless you're a ham fisted two year flailing around, this is not really a problem.Complaint #2: The lid falls off and/or leaksMy opinion: I have no idea what they are talking about. There is a clear rubber gasket that has two rows of tilted fins so it pushes on easily, but you really have to tug on it to pull it off to refill it. I had no leaks around the rim and there's no way this lid will just fall off during normal use, and no way the contents can leak out of the sides as others claim.

Great S&P set. the holes are rather large and if you don't watch it, you could end up spilling the salt. Too much of it that is. I'm not going to deduct a star for that like some other reviewers have. Just shake out less is all. I will deduct a star for packaging even though they arived undamged, packing peanuts and bubble wrap are cheap. The glass is rather thick, which is a pluss since they don't feel cheaply manufactured.

Love the Shakers. I like the big holes, I hold them sideways and tap once with pointer finger to release just the right amount of salt or pepper. They are large enough that you don't have to refill them as often, they look great as stainless steel.

These shakers arrived in "non-working" condition. I don't even seen how that is possible - they're salt and pepper shakers for God's sake! But, indeed, the metal caps for these are designed to "snap on" to a plastic base... and the caps were far too large and loose, that they wouldn't even sit in place normally; never mind when you hold them upside down and attempt to shake salt/pepper onto them repeatedly - only disaster could ensue. The good news is that fixing this was as easy as bending each pair of opposite sides in by squeezing each cap twice between your thumb and fingers. The shakers also have inadequately studied (perhaps not-at-all studied designs is a better word?) holes at the top. The salt shaker's holes are too large and release too much salt (and will continue to do so even without shaking, by simply holding it upside down) whereas the pepper shaker's holes are not big enough or not many enough to make it effective. The only redeeming quality here is that I personally find them to be fairly pretty and am hanging on to them for that reason alone.

Buying a new set as the salt doesn't stop coming out. It leaks through the sides and creates a giant mess. It is a nice look so will use for al fresco dining.

I bought these over a year ago. They were fine at first but over time for whatever reason the salt and pepper has started to leak from under the lid even though there is a gasket on the inside. Also, the lids are starting to "peel" back. I don't know how to describe it exactly but the edges are beginning to curl. I think this contributes to the contents leaking out now. They were plain looking, functional and not so very expensive which is exactly what I wanted but not so much anymore unfortunately.

This was a great value for a salt and pepper shaker. I wanted glass with stainless steel top and that's exactly what I got. The tops stay nice and secure and allow the perfect amount of salt and pepper to flow through. They also are very attractive sitting on the dining room table. Great value for the money.

I love these salt and pepper shakers. They're large, modern, and very attractive looking sitting in my kitchen. A previous reviewer complained that the holes in the lids are too large, but I disagree. They dispense just the right amount for my liking and I have no complaints.

Very happy with this purchase. Finding the right salt & pepper shakers turned out to be harder than I thought. I wanted something simple and clear, yet elegant, and I liked modern look of these. They not only look good, they function well too. I don't have to keep shaking and shaking the contents out like others with teensy pin prick holes. The S & P come out with minimal effort.They have stainless steel tops, and the glass isn't flimsy. They have a nice weight to them that assures quality. Will have these for a long time.

Excellent look and feel, larger shakers but not too big. Perfect for everyday use!

Has a rubber seal inside, but I could never get these to seal properly. Always leaking out under the lid and making a mess.

I actually like the fact that they are made with real glass. But beware, unlike with Acrylic containers, if we drop one of these on a ceramic floor, it's gone.

They're the size I want - nice look, perfect to leave on counter. However, they're messy in that both units leak around the seal under the lid. Consequently, when you're finished using and sit down, the loose s & p settles around the shaker, whether it's the table, or counter, it has to then be cleaned up. Too bad as I do like them.
