Food for the spirit
Jesus said that a day is coming when we will worship God in spirit and in truth. Boselli takes us on a journey into spirit as we explore the liturgy.

Learn the Liturgy
Often you hear many Catholics, particularly younger ones, say the Mass is boring and that they don't get anything out of it. I once heard a priest say that if many put as much effort into entering into the Mass as they put into entering into a movie or a game, they wouldn't find it boring. This book can help one enter into the Mass better because it explains the Mass' words and actions. I was pleasantly surprised at how Goffredo Boselli explained the Scriptural foundations of what takes place during the liturgy. A good summary of the book can be drawn from a few short passages from the introduction:"[T]he future of Christianity in the West depends largely on the church's capacity to allow its liturgy to become the source of spiritual life of all believers. ... [B]elievers (must) live from the liturgy they celebrate. ... [T]he purpose of the liturgy is the sanctification of people; it is through holiness of life that one gives glory to God. ... It is urgent to teach a sort of lectio of the liturgy that helps Christians understand the meaning of the liturgical texts and gestures in order to interiorize the mystery they celebrate. ... For believers to live from the liturgy, they must have a method that allows them to draw directly from the source of the church's prayer. Like the holy Scripture, the liturgy must be understood, meditated upon, and interiorized until it becomes a part of personal prayer." (pp. xi, xii, xiv, xv)

One of Many Texts to Fill In the Pieces
I am constantly looking for new ways to understand the Sacrifice of the Mass and to explain it to others. This work aided me in both respects.
