RapidRun HDMI Voltage Inserter
The RapidRun voltage inserter is a device which goes between an HDMI source (BluRay player, Satellite receiver, etc.) and its destination device (HDTV, HDMI splitter, etc.) to provide power down the HDMI line.A number of HDMI devices get their power from two conductors in the HDMI line and some devices (displays) must see voltage on these two wires before they will operate. Why the need for an inserter??? Some source devices have poor quality HDMI power. There are a number of satellite receivers that have poor HDMI power, and long HDMI lines can be a cause of poor power at their ends. The voltage inserter removes the poor power source and replaces it with its own supply, thereby eliminating problems associated with HDMI power issues. The RapidRun inserter is one of a few devices made for this purpose, and does the job quite well. It has a small "wall-wort" switching power supply attached to its male-female adapter plug with a 4 foot cord. Only a few caveats with this device:The power comes out the female end of the adapter. In some cases, a second (and possibly a third adapter) are needed to get the power flowing the proper direction. In most cases however, the male end fits the source device and the female end will be in the correct alignment for power delivery. Another problem with this device is the HDMI Line adapter construction which is slightly flimsy and can fall apart relatively easily. Its pins can also be damaged more easily compared to other HDMI devices since they aren't anchored all that well, but if this device is properly inserted into an HDMI line and left there, these failings shouldn't present problems.Aside from these minor shortcomings, the RapidRun voltage inserter is a valuable device for those applications where it is needed, and performs well in typical applications. It's also a good device to have in a troubleshooter's handbag to check for HDMI source power supply issues.

It didn't work for me. Heres my problem.
Well I gave it three stars because it seems the product is good quality and I was able to return it easy enough. Now, the reason I returned it was because it didn't seem to work for the problem I am having. So, in turn I don't even know if it does work.My setup: I have my Samsung Bluray Player (BD-5500) hidden out of site, connected to my Samsung LCD (46" 7series TOC) through a 25ft HDMI cable (it just some cheapie cable bought here on Amazon). My problem: Most of the time when I turn the player on with the remote, the LCD wont even recognize it, or it will then quickly flicker off (well, the players not off, just not displaying). I could turn it off and on a few times and it will catch on or I could try turning it on manually (without the remote) and that will usually work, for some reason. So, when it does stay on and I'm watching a disk or even Netflix, randomly (or if I'm watching something for like 20min or so), the image and sound will flicker off, stay off for around a minute or two then come back on. Once it begins acing up it'll start to do the flicker non-since like every five minutes. I've been just quickly pushing pause and waiting for it to come back on, or when it seems like its taking a long time I toggle though my sources to reset the connection and that usually works.I bought this RapidRun HDMI Power Inserter because I was thinking the problem was happening because 25' was too long of a stretch for the HDMI cable and thought more power with this adapter would get a stronger signal to my LCD. I plugged in the device right off of the Bluray player (the source end) like it said to, but it didn't fix my problem. So I sent it back. Not knowing if it even was working or not there was no way to tell, it just didn't help me.What I may try: I'm going to set the Bluray Player up right next to the LCD with a much shorter, different brand, HDMI cable that I have and see if I still have the same (above) problem. If the connection is better (no flickering non-since) I'll know it is the cable and the RapidRun probably didn't work in providing sufficient source power. If the problem continues with the shorter cable then it may be the player itself.Sorry for the long read, I was trying to get my point out. I should throw this up on some related topic forums and see if anyone has had the same problem or knows of fixes. If you read this and can throw in some knowledge then post a comment please! Thanks

Does the job...but i just wished they had better instructions
The HDMI cable from my projector was a bit 'wiggly' so i would have to wind up the wire and place a heavy object (my apple TV) to keep it from sagging and disconnecting from the input pin. This HDMI lock was just what i wanted and now the cable stays in place.I would only wish they had provided better instructions as it took me a few tries to get the wire stay in the lock. So in addition to the strip that you use to keep the wire secured to the HDMI pin, there is another mini flap that wraps around the wire that you have to tighten to keep the wire snug within the lock. The instructions merely state that the wire should fit snugly but they dont tell how to do it. I took me a few tries until i realized what I had to. Sorry I am not able to describe this better but apart from this I absolutely loved this.Update-The flap I am referring to is the 6th picture in the product description. Thus is what keeps the wire in place.

Solved splitter issue.
Worked perfectly to allow amplified cable to be used with a splitter. Had issues of losing signal to primary tv when second tv (with amplified cable) was turned off. This on the amplified cable solved the issue.
