LickiMat Soother Treat Mat for Dogs, Cats & Puppies

My nervous rescue dog isn't terribly food motivated, but I bought this for her for Christmas as a distraction from dealing with family. I have used it with liver paste, wet dog food, dog-friendly peanut butter, and it is a definite hit.It keeps her occupied for a decent length of time, and doesn't move around the floor much. She isn't a chewer and hasn't tried to eat it, but does wander off and come back to it in intervals and I only use while she is supervised.I have been washing it in the top rack of the dishwasher. They do get a bit warped from this, but not badly so (totally still functional!). You do need to put them in quickly after use to avoid the food drying as they can be a pain to clean otherwise (I have invested in a specific Joseph Joseph scrubbing brush especially for 'dog-licked mats', and that works well.Probably nets about 5-15 minutes of solid attention, which isn't bad for a treat feeder! I prefer this one to the other varieties as the treats it is best for are healthier, but it is probably the hardest to clean after, YMMV.

My puppy looooooves his licky mat.I mean he loves food regardless, but this keeps him occupied for ages. I can leave him to crack on and he'll lick up all of it and still go back for me. Whether that's down to the minute particles still left or if he just likes the feel of it, I'm not sure, but he is a very happy pup when he knows his licky mat is heading his way.Highly recommend as a treat for your pup and to keep them occupied.

I am really impressed with this item. I have an adorable dachshund who likes to be with us when we're cooking and eating. He's just on the lookout for anything 'surplus to requirements' which often means he can be literally under your feet. I don't want to shut him out of the kitchen so wondered what I could do to keep him occupied but still with us - introducing the Lickimat! I've only used peanut butter so far but he just loves it; 2 teaspoons kept him busy for a good 20 minutes. I'll definitely try some squeezy cheese or banana next and in the summer add something I can freeze to help him cool down. Only had this a few days but I already love it and so does my pooch!

Our 5 month old puppy loved this and kept him quiet for ages. Issue was when he’d finished licking everything up from it he started chewing on the outside and instantly tore a bit off! Had bought it to leave with him when we have to leave him on his own to settle him but won’t be able to leave him unsupervised with it which is a real shame. Needs a hard outer edge really to be more durable to leave a dog alone with.

This is a plastic mat. Thought it would be bigger but it was well liked by the dog once they got used to it and with the right filling. Didn’t take him long to lick it all off though.

Bought this for my dog who is constantly licking the floor and carpet. I didn’t realise it could be an anxiety/boredom thing. He loves this, keeps him entertained with a small amount of dog food. He’s not a destructive dog so I know he won’t destroy it either
