Finally a kids book about autism in GIRLS!
Finally a children’s book about autism in GIRLS! Many of the books I have tried so far we’re not relatable to my 8yr old daughter who was struggling to understand her ASD diagnosis. This book helped her to understand it and was very relatable. It was also perfect to read together with her 5yr old sister. A great addition to our library, and an excellent conversation starter.

Good book to engage childern in conversation about being kind to others
I liked the moral of the story, I didn't really care a lot about the labeling used in the book such as "Autistic" or "Spectrum". I bought this book to explain to my 4 year old son and 6 & 8 year old niece and nephew how to be accepting of other children that cannot communicate with them in the same way that they communicate with others and how to be kind and respect other's feelings. I would have preferred that the book would keep out the autism labels.

A confusing read for a little girl
I got this for my 6 year old niece to help her understand her brother's differences. The dialogue in the book is confusing, and the story is jumpy. The characters aren't well developed or relatable. I ended up ad-libbing most of it to her.

Nice book to read to my children
The book teaches a good lesson of friendship and how to be kind to everyone regardless of how different they are.

Helping kids understand how to act with kindness.
I am the author of "The Horse Who Loves Hats" and ordered this book as I was doing research on autism for my book. I have witnessed many siblings of children on the spectrum as my horse has participated in equine therapy for children and veterans. I found Lori Demonia's handling of the subject excellent. I will share this book with my grandchildren so when they encounter families with children managing challenges they'll have a good framework to help them respond with kindness and patience. I recommend this book be added to a family library.

Great for Teachinf
I am using this in school as a part of my special education book review. This is a perfect example of how to teach children about special needs.

Easy read for children! My daughter struggles with reading and it was easy for her. She enjoyed the book a lot!

This is the perfect book to help children understand a little bit about ...
This is the perfect book to help children understand a little bit about autism and to teach them acceptance - Not too long, not too short, not too complex, and not overly simplistic. It's a great book.

beautiful
I love this. My GDD son loves this, and I have every intention of reading it to my other children too. I love how it shows the unconditional love between families, the way children just walk off and tantrum, and their arguments. As well as how they can be beautiful individuals inside and out. My son is stunning, and I wouldn't change him,for anything!
