Perfect for me
I’ve been using this Brydge keyboard for 12.9 iPad Pro for a few weeks now. I love it. It turns your ipad into a laptop, but it’s effortless to remove your ipad when you don’t want the keyboard. As you can see from my photos I would not recommend it for turning front to back on top of the keyboard since the hinges then block the ipad screen. However its so easy to just remove the ipad that function isn’t necessary to me, and I would rather have strong hinges. Ive owned Zagg keyboards in the past and the hinges always eventually went. That was at least many years ago and I believe not their most rugged models, so this isn’t a comment on Zagg, but the large strong looking hinges attracted me with this model. I cant yet rate hinge durability with the Brydge, but I’ll go ahead and gave it top stars on battery life based on their claim of 1 year for a charge. Assuming that is the case, that’s a big improvement in the industry over the 3 months most companies used to claim.I’ve also owned an inexpensive Fintie keyboard once....several years ago and the technology is always improving... but that keyboard lagged badly. Lagging is a deal breaker to me. I do not notice any lag at all with this Brydge keyboard. Phew.Typing is great, but I don’t think I’m not picky about that aspect of keyboards. Its’ a bit noisy to me after my quiet Apple cloth covered keyboard for iPad Pro, but that isn’t a deal breaker and in fact, normal I think from springiness of the keys? But that brings me to the why I ditched the Apple iPad Pro keyboard. I absolutely loved that keyboard, but after almost a year it started having intermittent problem with connecting to the ipad. Apparently lots of people have this problem with it, I did everything I could find online to try to correct that, including shutting down the ipad with keyboard off, various things in settings, etc. And yes I will probably call apple care and see what they can do, and exchange it with Apple, and maybe get some more months or a year out of the next one. Maybe it just requires a new IOS update. But over the year with that one I started really missing the backlight I had with the old Zagg keyboards. This backlit Brydge keyboard isn’t as feather weight as the apple, but it is light enough. I liked many things about the Apple keyboard, including the dark surface, the cloth feel of the keys and how it’s all one surface. But I am appreciating with this Brydge keyboard the backlit keys, and also the adjustable angles for viewing just like a laptop. And for you handy people out there who are wondering if the iPad Pro case from the apple store with pencil holder, for the earlier non-magnetic pencils, could be jury-rigged to go with this keyboard, the answer if your case is like mine, is yes!You can see that in some of the pictures I uploaded I used scissors and a razor blade to just cut out where the hinges go and i used a nail file to smooth some rough edges so they don’t catch on sweaters. I did a really rough job to say the least, and I wish I had the right dremel tool which would make a professional job of it easily, but actually I never notice it anymore and it works perfectly. In fact it gives a nice padding when I stand the ipad/keyboard closed against a wall so I included a photo.

The perfect keyboard for iPad Pro
I love almost everything about this keyboard - the full size backlit keys, the dedicated row of function keys, ease of use, looks, and performance are all stellar! I'm regretting all the time I spent with the Apple Smart Keyboard as I should have purchased this one to begin with. It's much more stable for lap typing, which is how I use it the majority of the time and it's much easier to open and close. I can type so much faster and absolutely love the function keys that are missing from the Apple keyboard. The hinges hold the iPad securely at any angle for comfortable typing. It's also really easy to remove if necessary. The only thing I wish it had is a dedicated function key for displaying the dock. It's difficult to swipe up from the bottom of the screen to access the dock due to the way it attaches to the iPad. There are shortcut keys to display the dock, but pressing all three keys is cumbersome (option+cmd+D) and defeats the convenience of the dock. There is a battery key that doesn't seem to do anything, so that could be replaced with a dock key. Other than that, I have no complaints about this keyboard and wish I had bought it a long time ago. Totally worth the price!

Great keyboard for the IPad, highly recommend.
I bought this keyboard last November and waited until now to write a review after I had used it for a while. I have nothing but great comments. The keyboard works great and the keys have a nice tactile response. As others have commented it makes the IPad look like an IMac. The keyboard case perfectly matches my IPad Pro. The IPad sets in 2 u shaped holders that hold it very securely, have had no issues. There are few instructions, which is not a problem, but I could not figure out how the battery monitor worked. Contacted support and they quickly showed me how to check battery status. After use the keyboard turns off and does not come on again until a key is touched. It takes about 4 seconds to connect to the IPad via Bluetooth which is not a problem. Have not had to recharge the battery for 4 months, I’ve read that the battery should last over a year before recharging is required. All in all far better than the Apple case and keyboard I had which fell apart after 2 years.

Bluetooth unacceptable
We purchased two for our medical office. Great physical design/ form-factor. Dr. And nurses carry ipad pros into exam rooms for data entry.Pairing is a HUGE issue as just moving ipad with keyboard attached, causes pairing to break connection. Requires re-pairing.Just plain unacceptable and un useable in our environment. It appears that other wireless signals, bluetooth devices, or maybe multiple brydge keyboards are interfering and breaking connections.I contacted brydge and their response was that bluetooth has a distance limit....der...the keyboards are attached to the ipads....1/2” is distance.Device may be great at home or away from other signals, but not in a busy office environment.

It works with older Pro generation iPad!
First, if you have an older model Air Pro iPad and I do, their are not many choices if you need a new keyboard. So, it came on time however, even the manufacturer’s website says they don’t know when/if they will have more…so if you find it and need it, snap it up. The keyboard attaches easily and works fine. The biggest issue that led to my 4 star review is, you have to close your iPad to conserve battery life. When you reopen, it needs to be resynced to the iPad. It also needs to be resynced if you leave it open for too long - like 15 minutes. When resyncing, the computer screen pops up constantly and it takes 5-6 tries before it understands you are using this keyboard. It is a pain when you want to get something done! BUT, it works and it will do until I replace the whole iPad. Hope this helps you1

High build quality, heavy
The build quality of the Brydge keyboard feels outstanding, it looks great, it's a better typing experience than the Apple keyboard, the screen can be held at any angle, and there are a bunch of additional keys to control volume, playback, etc.The biggest downside is that it takes a few seconds to wake up and resume the Bluetooth connection, since it goes to sleep every few minutes to save battery. It's also pretty bulky and heavy, so I probably wouldn't take the Brydge travelling.I still prefer the original Apple keyboard because it was lightweight and always on, but it wore out and stopped functioning too quickly (I went through two of them). I expect that the Brydge keyboard will outlast the iPad itself.

A sturdy case
I love this because it isn’t too bulky, has a good blue tooth connection. It makes your ipad look like a laptop, much easier typing with it than just the iPad.

Beautiful quality keyboard, sturdy hinge, fast sleep for power save
Pros:Why did I buy this keyboard? Well the official keyboard from Apple has flaws in its design. The connector damages the iPad in a way that after 2 years, it stopped working and slowed down my iPad like hell. This it much better! The keyboard is crafted beautifully and makes your iPad look like a MacBook. It’s made of aluminium in the exact same color as Apple makes it, and has this very chique backlight. The screen is fixed tightly and the iPad auto sleeps when closed. The keyboard types like a real laptop and there are all function keys just as a MacBook. You can switch it on and off with a powerkey but it also has autosleep. The battery lasts just forever, and is charged with a supplied usb cable. Last: the connection is via Bluetooth and is fast and stable.Cons:The hinges are very sturdy, in fact so sturdy I sometimes fear for the glass on my screen. But so far, no problems. To preserve power it goes into sleep after a few minutes. To wake it, just type a key. After like 3 seconds the connection is back. I wish I could override the autosleep. That’s it!

Solid, great battery life.
What a fantastic keyboard for my i pad pro 12.9 inch. Ive always used the apple Smart Keyboard until i saw this advertised, its the best, very sturdy, and easy to use, in fact my iPad is now like a MacBook. I would recommend this keyboard to anyone looking to purchase..
