The Coconut Flour Gourmet: 150 Delicious Gluten-Free Coconut Flour Recipes

Tasty!!
Coconut flour is very dense next to other flours. The texture is a bit different depending on how it is used. Gravies are not going to be the same perfectly smooth texture as white flour gravies. It isn't a shock to the pallet but it is a little bit different. The taste however is better then white flour gravies by far. It is very rich. If you make cakes or brownies, they will be denser then white flour goods. I love the brownies because the denseness holds onto the flavor of the chocolate. It's just like eating fudge!!! Coconut flour is just a magnet for holding flavors. Very much worth it for your health!! Get used to it, it's not much of a change, but if you go into this with the thought that it is exactly the same as white flour, you will be disappointed!!! In the long run you will love it as much as using white flour!! Go for it!!!

I lament this review ~ I really like Dr Fife's other books.
I sent the book back to Amazon. As a Nutritional Therapist, I feel like I only want the best for my clients. The recipe's in this book were full of refined sugar. I was very disappointed. Please note: Dr Fife's book: COCONUT OIL MIRACLE is a MUST read for anyone interested in learning the amazing benefits on all levels of coconut oil. Each of my clients reads this book. His first cookbook, COOKING WITH COCONUT FLOUR, is used very often in my kitchen By the way: I always temper anyone's coconut flour recipe's by using almond flour or meal to soften the end result. If the recipe says: 3/4 C Sifter Coco Flour---> I use 1/2 C Coco flour & 1/4 almond meal or flour. Often, I care & cook for hospice patients & muffins made with is ratio + stevia & lemon extract is a big hit. Think I'm getting off track here! I really want to point you to his other books & to encourage you to enjoy the great benefits that Dr Fife has brought to our attention.

Will use this book for prepping meals - started the Ketogenic Therapy Diet first as I am type O+ & by eliminating all sugar, refined foods, grains, & starchy veggies was pain free in 3 days!!! Have suffered with extreme knee & hand pain for 15+ years. Lost 5 pounds during the first two weeks! Will maintain the Ketogenic Therapy Diet forever!!!! Not only anti-inflammation, anti-pain - but also kills cancer cells at they require sugar & cannot process healthy fats! Will use coconut flour, almond & rice flours in lieu of any grain flours!

Good ideas
I am a coconut fan. this book is good but introduces other types of ingredients other than just coconut flour, not sure if I will use them as much since I have not researched those ingredients. The previous book of recipes by Fife idles not include his wife as co-writer and uses strictly coconut flour and I gave it five stars. Enjoy!

Wow! An Autographed Original!
I'm a firm believer in the benefits of using Coconut oil for just about everything, from keeping my 76 year old face from having any wrinkles, to using cocounut oil for all my cooking. Great book. Just wish Bruce Fife would come out with his cookbooks in a hard cover and not paperback. The provider was quick. The book arrived in perfect condition. I'd use their service again.

Not healthy
I was very disappointed. There's no use in using coconut flour as a healthy alternative ingredient, if the replacement ingredients are unhealthy. The book Wheat Belly is very informative, give it a read. You'll soon realize the significance of avoiding "gluten free" pre packaged items. If you're recreating with those same ingredients used, what's the point. The special flour mix they created to get you the texture as close as possible to the regular thing, is a GI spiking nightmare. Do your research. Stevie's great. Coconut oil, milk and flour is excellent and so are an abundance of eggs but this book takes you into a venture of other unhealthy ingredients. My family was very disappointed. However, their first book Cooking with Coconut Flour rocks!

I love all the books written by Bruce Fife, but not this one.
I'm so interested in Coconut Oil, it is a fabulous product for cooking, cures etc and I have purchased most of the Fife books. But this one is not interesting, and photos are in black and white. The main reason is that I have quit sugar and wheat. Heaps if sugar in a lot if recipes.I will use Coconut flour, But this is just an uninspiring basic book, that I won't really use.The recipes don't read as 'gourmet'. I am disappointed.

I can't wait to try these!
I just got my book yesterday and then hopped back on Amazon to order the 'mix of flours'. If you are ordering this book then order the following flours to go with it: brown rice, millet, coconut, tapioca. I ordered the 4-packs and with prime it was FREE shipping. I cannot wait to try the sandwich bread.
