Perfect Alternative for Running Wires!
These are the perfect alternative to running CAT5e cables throughout your house, or working in wireless dead zones. Very easy to setup! Just plug in, push a button, and your connection is there and encrypted. Only reason I didn't give these 5 stars was because they do cover the second outlet on a typical home 2 plug wall outlet. While you can plug something into these devices, it's a little irritating that the second outlet cannot also be used. Otherwise excellent product from TRENDnet.

Awesome product. Great Deal !!!!
I was extremely happy @ how quickly I received this item. Two days from ordering. Considering I hadn't put or paid for any special shipping. I already use the TRENDnet TPL-406E2K Compact Powerline in several locations in my home. But I needed a Powerline adapter with a Bonus Outlet for in my bedroom where there was only a standard two plug outlet I was able to hook this up to receive Streaming Internet for my Roku and then be able to get Netflix without any loss of signal. VERY SWEET. BTW another nice feature is I received a nudge ( sort of speak ) from Amazon letting me that this item was available. Very nice, I just received an email letting me know that an item I had been searching for was available. Very Nice. Oh, And I didn't even mention the Great price on this item. $28.48 to my door.

My order arrived on time and in good condition. I had trouble syncing the new one ...
I purchased this product because I already had a set and I wanted to add more. My order arrived on time and in good condition. I had trouble syncing the new one to work with other older set, had to uninstall the software and then reinstall the software then then started working. Working good now.

Absolutely would NOT recommend
Where oh where do I start? I managed to get this thing (TPL-304E) working at one point, but it stopped numerous times a day and I kept having to unplug/plug each time, so I just stopped using the thing. I decided to give it another try, and after several hundred times trying every combo I can possibly think of to enter a password, all I get is "invalid password". This thing is useless IMO. I paid $60+ for it and it was a total waste. I will never, ever buy anything from Trendnet again. There should be a way to determine how to reset the password or something. Who were the idiots that designed something that can't be reset? Sorry to be a jerk about it, but I've wasted too many hours fooling with this junk.

Not recommend
I won't recommend this product.I got the TPL-304E, installed in my 2 years old townhouse. If the two adapters are in the same room (different outlet), the transmit speed is rated around 140Mbps. However, if I move one to the second floor, the speed drops to <50mbps. Worse than my wireless N router. This is acceptable if no other issues.Pros: The setup is very simple, plug in, press the sync button, and it works.Cons: But beware of the password issue. There is a 16-digit password printed on the back of adapter. The password is required to setup the network security. It did not work. I tried >100 times and all kinds of combination, every time I got the "password is invalid" message. This password is the "permanent password" attached to each of the adapter. You will need it if you want to set a security password and decide which adapter can access the network. Called trendnet, they can do nothing about it. By talking to them, I got a feeling this problem is very common. The permanent password is generated by manufacture and cannot be changed by reset. And if it is wrong, you are out of luck, the manufacture (trendnet) doesn't have any record of what is the correct one even if I provide the S/N.Also I highly recommend using Netgear's powerline adapter software instead of the one provided by TrendNet. The trendnet software is very poor and has almost nothing you can tweak.Last thing: have been using the powerline for last 3 days and had encountered once the network breakdown. I have to unplug and replug the adapter to re-establish the connection.
