I love Ruben's playing of the piano which he treats like a percussion instrument - which fundamentally is what the piano is.

It's people like this that make me wish I could play the piano. To read about his situation, alleviated by the obvious joy that he experienced when playing (which comes across when you listen) gives one an insight into life in Cuba and the importance of music to people.

Faulous recording and playing
Superbly recorded and pressed this excellently packaged album is a joy.It has the feel of a jam with great musicians and was recorded as an afterthought following the Buena Vista sessions when they found there was studio time to spare.Fabulous!
