Not Suitable for All Little Ones
I was a little disappointed with these crayons for a couple reasons. First, the good points:--Pros--1) vibrant colors2) feel good and solid in your hand--Cons--1) These are advertised as baby/toddler crayons. The box even has "Baby Crayons," but they are a CHOKING HAZARD. If your child has a tendency to put things in her mouth like my 15-month-old, I'd pass on these crayons. They are perfect size to get lodged in their mouth and block their windpipe.2) They are smaller than you'd think. They're much smaller than chicken eggs. They're more like quail eggs lol.3) The description says they are a "stacking" toy, but how in the world do you stack egg shaped crayons? They do stand on their own straight out of the box due to a slightly flattened base, but as soon as you use them to color, they're off balance. Also, a baby or toddler can't stand them up; it took my steady adult hand several seconds to steady them upright.4)They don't smell good. One of the joys of crayons is the smell, and these are kind of stinky. If your child is older, these crayons might be okay so long as your child doesn't mind imprecision or abstract coloring.

Great for tots!
These are great quality crayons for tiny toddler hands. They’re perfect sized for my 1 year old to grip, but not small enough to swallow. They also write well as can be seen in the photo. The crayon is smooth and doesn’t leave hand residue. The package is also nice and giftable.

Great for PRESCHOOLERS ! Not “toddlers”! 3+
They are fine, but I have a big problem with the description of “Toddler” crayons and *then* saying they are only suitable for 3+. That is NOT toddler anymore, that’s preschooler. I was in a rush and did not read the fine print. That’s partly on me, but when something says “toddler” you don’t expect it’s actually only good for kids older than that age entirely! If I didn’t have a 5 year old that likes them I would have sent them back on principle. I know it’s in the bigger description in bold, but that’s way far down the page! Not okay!So anyway I got them for my 1 year old, and they do not work for her. I let her try, but she immediately tried to eat them and by “eat” I mean swallow like a snake! I didn’t let her, but her mouth was open wide to try! I’m not *sure* she could, but if she was able to (they say “anything smaller than a toilet paper tube0 and these are!) they would be firmly stuck behind her teeth and blocking her airway and I’m not sure how well the Heimlich maneuver would work! Yikes! Thankfully I bought two kinds and the other kind works great (Crayola) for my one year old and these are great for my 5 year old (when baby isn’t around) or I’m right there. I’m kinda mad about the description, but not a waste in this case. The colors aren’t super saturated but not bad. My 5 year old loves them, more for playing pretend with them (“Look at these dinosaur eggs!””, “Marahute’s golden eagle eggs, Mommy!”) than coloring. So yeah. Great for preschool age. Might be fun as part of an Easter egg hunt. Or other play involving eggs. They are a pretty smooth hard wax so don’t get on stuff.

Choking hazard!
I was disappointed when these showed up and were a choking hazard! I bought them as the first crayons for my 1 year old nephew and would never let my own child have them, let alone give them as a gift. FYI if it can fit down a toilet paper tube, it’s a choking hazard. These easily fit.

Choking Hazzard!
Biggest concern: They are small enough that they can just fit all the way inside my one-year-old's mouth. If I were not paying close enough attention, she could have pushed the whole thing in and it would have been very difficult to pry out given it's smooth, round shape and the added element of saliva making it slippery. Not a good idea for children who still like putting things in their mouths! Both my 1 and 2.5 year olds love playing with these but I recommend a different brand that is hopefully bigger.

Dull Pastel-Like Colors on the Page
See how vibrant those colors are in the picture? Like they could be cousins of Lisa Frank? Yeah, no. That's not the reality. The reality is that when my 3 year old tried to press down, he could barely see anything. The reality is that when I tried to push down as a full grown adult, I still had trouble seeing the colors. Because you would have to be a male or female Hercules to see anything, these weren't really for me. I ended up donating them.

Great Crayons for Toddlers
These are great for toddlers. They can't break these crayons. We have purchased these twice one for our child and another for our friends' young child. I'm very sure others will make this purchase after seeing our child with them.

Good quality, good size for little hands.
Those little eggy crayons are well-made, clean on the hand and seem like very sturdy. My little one kept throwing them but they did not break or chip. Easy to handle. My one year old can draw with them with no problem. However, I think the price is a bit stiff for nine crayon though, that's why I take off one star.
