Taytools 468969 Deluxe Pen Press with 1-3/16 Inches Plunger Travel Adjustable Stop Made from Steel and Anodized Aluminum

I needed this tool for pressing pen parts into the brass tubing inside my cut and polished wood pens.

Overall, I absolutely love this thing, and has made my pen assembly a million times better. It's easy to adjust, and it doesn't mar the pen surfaces. I would say to use caution with the aluminum press portion, as that might scratch finishes, but so long as you keep that in mind, there's no issue. Just removable piece of felt or a nylon cap that you can slide over it would make that part perfect in my opinion.One slight issue is the base. Because it's lightweight metal, it can flex if you're pressing something exceptionally tight. Not really and issue for 99% of the pen assembly you might be doing, but I noticed it on some difficult assemblies.

I’m new at making pens with polymer clay, so when I realized that I really needed a pen press, I didn’t know what to look for. I’m on a budget, so I couldn’t spend much on one. I bought this particular pen press because of the price. I was fearful that it wouldn’t work properly. To my delight it works great! I now have a device that is helping me with my craft. I highly recommend this press!

I’ve had this press for a while now and have made about 10 or so pens with it. Originally I didn’t mind it but the base is way too flexible. It bows up when pressing pens which causes uneven pressure/ pressure not in a perfect linear plane. This has caused the last 3 pens I have made to crack when pressing the final parts. I have been very careful when pressing them and they still cracked. Very disappointing. I wish I could get my money back.
