Bought this for my friend's daughters (nearly 5 and nearly 3) - they love it :)Extra fun if read in the dark with a torch !

Thought it might be helpful to see images of the same page with and without a light behind it!

lovely informative books with enchanting illustrations

I’ve been eyeing the ‘shine-a-light’ series for sometime now. The had to be imported so very quite expensive. I was lucky to find a deal on this book and so purchased it.That said, the book didn’t live up to my expectations. The shine-a-light feature is just so overrated and does not really wow the kid. The content too is mediocre. Holding a flat light under the page makes reading difficult. Also the transparency of the page makes it difficult to read if you don’t hold the page down. I would recommend this book only if you get a good deal. And that too just to introduce variety.

Purchased as a gift for my step-nephew and he love love loves it (along with the Secrets of the Apple Tree). His mom said he wants to read them every night and loves using his own flashlight to see all the creatures. Trees are his thing, so I went with Rainforest and Apple Tree, but I think anything in the series would be a great pick and have a mom friend who owns others that her mother found at a bookstore (note: these are not easy to find and well worth purchasing on Amazon even though they come from third-party sellers). Don't get me wrong - I still love the classics and give those as gifts, but as far as books go these are different, exciting, interactive, fun, and yes, educational (without feeling like it).

My two tear old loves to turn the lights off and use a flashlight to find the hidden images in this book! She plays peak a boo eith the animals.

Love these series

This book is pretty neat. I love how the images appear with light and how colorful the images are. This is a good, quality book.
