After much review of blindspot systems (after getting tagged by someone attempting to pass me), I found that this manufacturer was originally an OEM for the manufacturer of the vehicle I'm driving. However, there was concern that my vehicle might be just old enough to not be able to support this. Their tech support gave me some testing instructions to perform with my vehicle before going through the full physical install to confirm the system would work. Everything tested out great. Physical install went as expected, except the stand-off brackets for mounting behind the rear bumper weren't anywhere near long enough for what I was facing with my vehicle. I had to get some "radio strapping" to extend the mounting arms 2-3 inches to be able to mount the sensors right behind the plastic bumper.I've had this system installed for several months and it works just like what I experience when renting newer vehicles (I often travel for work, so lots of experiences with different rental vehicles).Only complaint I have is with the installation where the instructions are unclear on what the expected signal voltage is from the turn signals - ie, a constant voltage while the signal is turned on, or the pulsing or "flashing" voltage that is responsible for making the bulbs flash. I made several inquires to tech support, but it was like they couldn't comprehend the question or the differences in a constant / steady indicator voltage (pre-flash module) or the pulsing / flashing bulb voltage.

Very pleased with the RDBS-1500 kit
The RDBS-1500 is being continually improved by Brandmotion, so the instructions provided in Dec 2019 had several addendums which made installation a little more difficult. One instruction says that the sensors need to be mounted 3-10mm from the inside of the bumper. That tight tolerance would be almost impossible to achieve since the pumper has to be off to install the sensor, but Brandmotion tech assistance assured me that as long as the sensor is mounted at the correct angles, the distance from the bumper is not critical. I installed mine about 3" in from the bumper and it still works GREAT. Brandmotion highly recommends having the system installed by a professional, but I was not able to find anyone in the Augusta, GA area who had installed one. As a result I had an auto body place remove and replace the bumper, a car audio place mount the alarm lights, CAN ECU and cabin wiring harness and I mounted the sensors. Total cost was $280 plus about 4 hours to mount the sensors. The audio store estimated $600 to $700. The end result was well worth the trouble, it has been on a couple weeks now and I have not had any false alarms or had it not alarm when it should. This kit from Brandmotion includes everything needed to install the system right down to the screws and tie wraps. It communicates with the car via a plug that plugs into the OBD II socket (the one used to check engine light fault data). The system has to be unplugged when doing diagnostics on the car, but that is easy to do.I am adding this supplemental review on 12/4/2020 after almost a year of use. I do not write reviews very often, but this blind spot alarm in an exceptional system. In the year we have had this equipment in use, it has never given a false alarm nor has it missed warning us of a potential collision. It is rare that I am totally satisfied with a product, but if I could give this one 10 stars out of 5, I would.

Did not work - expensive gamble buying this
It was a frustrating experience to buy this unit by paying close to $700.I had it installed by a reputed dealer (the one listed by Brandmotion as authorized) and it did not work. The dealer spent over 2 hours trying to fix it and their answer was that it is either defective or you have the wrong set of instructions. It was frustrating to get it installed and I spent over $500 in installation and returning the item back to Amazon. Thanks Amazon, but brandmotion is someone whom you should not deal with. Their prducts are expensive and pathetic, support is even worse.

Highly Recommended
This is an excellent radar based blind spot plus cross traffic alert system with limitations. If your vehicle speed is below 15-mile, this does not work. If there is static object, then this doesn’t work. Both limitations are listed in their product description. Apart from this, it is OEM quality. I have been using it for last 1 month it is working perfectly, no false alarm. Cross traffic alert system works brilliantly in busy parking lot.Things to improve:Brandmotion’s product support. It requires professional installation and most of the dealers listed in brandmotion’s website doesn’t have any clue about this product and its installation process. I have contacted brandmotion’s support twice and they said they will send updated dealer list, which I never received. If brandmotion somehow overcomes the product’s current limitation and improve its customer support, it will be hot selling item.Advice for future buyers:It requires professional installation. It is hard to find shop which has experience on this. The shop which installed it in my car, they have done it at least in another 25 cars last 2 years and all of them is working perfectly. So, always check with the shop’s beforehand.

Update- Thumbs Up
I installed this product in my Jeep Wrangler in November 2018, and the product worked well. In January 2019, the radar system stopped working properly.I contacted Amazon, which graciously sent me a replacement system to use to either replace the entire system or the faulty parts.I received the new system and was able to determine that one of the led indicator lights had gone bad. I replaced the light and returned the rest of the new system to Amazon, and everything works well again.I want to commend Amazon for its excellent customer service, and I would recommend the Brand blind spot detection system.
