Have just looked at the pictures on amazon. There seems to be 2 different types depending on the style you select. I bought the brown as they were the only ones available in my size, they are certainly extra wide. All I can suggest is select the size you need and then compare the pictures of what is available. You should be able to tell from the inside views which is extra wide.

The short answer is no. Not waterproof like any trainer will cope with a little drizzle but rain will result in wet socks.
