Beautiful! Fits in well with our living room furniture. Really well made! My son loves putting his things in the little compartments. They will be a great place to put crayons and scissors as he grows into it.So easy to put together. Only took about 30 minutes for me to put it together myself. It is very pretty in our living room. I love everything about it, I only wish they had an option to buy additional legs that were 5" shorter. My son is only 20 months and short for his age so shorter legs would make it a better height for him now and then he could use the table for many years.Update: BONUS!! I contacted the company and they were so helpful. A real customer-centered company. They worked with me to get some shorter legs for the table so he can use it now AND later as he grows. I highly recommend buying from this company.

After reading reviews for a couple of months I really wanted this table set because of the larger size and solid hardwood material, however I was on the fence due to several same remarks about poor workmanship. It arrived quickly within one week, the packaging was nice as everything was wrapped in styrofoam/cardboard, the wood was unscratched and in tact. I ordered Espresso to match my kitchen but I' d say the color is more of a Cherry Espresso blend, like Espresso over Cherry finish in certain light. Ironically it works great because I have Brazilian Cherry throughout my home as well as the Espresso cabinetry. Skeptical from some reviews I watched for any issues reported but could not find one...I even shopped the day I ordered it for 'better' screws although after trying a couple of the original screws I felt they were just fine and again had zero issues. I used a manual screwdriver instead of the Allen wrench enclosed and did not need an electric drill for fear of splitting, just in case. The predrilled holes all lined up, nothing split or cracked and even with the 'help' of my 3 year old they were coloring on it in literally 20 minutes. My kids are 3 years old and nearly 2 years old and very tall for their age, long backs, long legs. I' m confident they will be able to use this table for many, many years. All of the drama surrounding frustration didn't arrive with this table so I guess it's luck of the draw. The only thing I have to return now are the screws I purchased before it arrived. If I absolutely had to list any negativity I'd say only one of the chairs slightly rocks, it's on our tile floor, but that was solved quickly with a small felt pad. I even tried to dig my nail into the side to see if the wood would scratch but again, nothing! No veneers, no fresh stain smell. Their crayons even wiped right off nicely. In sum, I' m really happy with this set and I'm a picky, neat freak, nothing but the best for my kids type of momma.

This is an excellent table, our toddler loves it and it is very sturdy.As other reviewers have mentioned, the long screws that come with the table (for attaching the table legs to the table top) are not good. The pilot holes are not wide enough, and the screws are soft, so the Phillips heads strip out almost immediately. I was only able to get half of the screws into the table without stripping.I bought new 3-inch screws from Lowe's, that did the job perfectly: Madera wood screws 14x3 Flat Phillips Brass The UPC on the bag is 08236 68238Apart from this one issue, a fantastic item. Do yourself a favor and buy eight of these screws before you assemble the table, and don't bother using the ones that come with it.The chairs went together without any trouble.

I bought this table for my 4 year old daughter. This table is cute and has handy slots to place coloring books and papers. The chairs are a little higher than the standard kids chairs so they will be able to use this set longer (I would say to at least age 8 or so). The set did arrive with dings on the table top and the table hardware was missing. Although all I wanted was the hardware, the company did immediately ship out a new table top which I thought was very nice. Being a single mom however, this was a hassle for me as the table is quite heavy and now I have two. I gave it 5 stars anyway because although I purchased this through a 3rd party via Amazon, it was the manufacturer Lipper Int'l who immediately responded to my complaint and sent a new table top/hardware. Pro's: Beautiful espresso color, sturdy, cubbies for project/paper storage, reasonably priced, responsive company.

Update 1/11/16 - After a year of use, this table is still holding up well. My daughter plays at this table almost daily, and although it has some surface scratches, they don't really show as bad as I thought they might on a dark surface. As I mentioned in original review, I sit down in the chairs to play with her, so the chairs are sturdy enough to support a 200 lb grown man. This has been a good little table for her room.Original Review:This is a really pretty little table. The chairs are fairly sturdy and will support the weight of a 190 lb full grown man, as my 2 yo daughter insists that I join her each evening for "time to eat" at her table, which occurs just after we actually eat at the real table. My daughter loves this size, as it is small enough for a 2 year old to climb up in the chair by herself, but I can also fit in the chair so she feels like it is a big person table too. The dark finish matches our furniture well, which my daughter loves because it makes her feels like she has a "real table" in "her kitchen" and not a "baby toy table". So far (after two months), it has been fairly scratch resistant, too.

Just what we were looking for. This table is a great size. My 3 year old and 8 year old can both use it at the same time. My kids eat their meals here and my son also uses it for homework and for his legos. I love the compartments underneath. His pencil box and school work fits nicely. Very sturdy and the quality seem good considering the price.I (30 year old female) put it together by myself, no trouble, in about an hour. I used the screws that came with it and they worked fine. I didn't have any issues with them "stripping" as mentioned in other reviews.
