I really wanted a 75-foot expandable hose, but Elk and Bear only has one size: 50-feet.I decided to buy the Elk and Bear hose after researching expandable hoses -- on Amazon, on other online sites, in Home Depot, Lowes, hardware stores, etc. for most of a week. I chose the Elk and Bear hose for a couple or reasons: Because of the Lifetime Warranty, and information in the reviews that demonstrate reviews that they take it seriously and honor it. Because of the generally very good reviews, and my impression that the less-than-positive reviews that the buyers either hadn't given it a chance, and/or didn't understand the simplicity of their Lifetime Warranty. (It's my shopping practice to look at 1-star reviews first, and then work my way up to 5-star reviews. I'm more interested in what could go wrong -- so I can avoid problems had by earlier purchasers -- than reviews that say everything's fine. And I read each review thoroughly. And I rely on reviews, negative and positive, in reaching a buying decision. That's why, when I write reviews, they're detailed reviews; I try to answer the questions that I would have as a prospective buyer. And I also take the time to answer questions that potential buyers have.) Because they require that one REGISTERS for the warranty; this way, if you contact them regarding the warranty they know you really bought one.It arrived quickly.Pros: Not light and flimsy feeling as with others I've seen and held. The hose has a substantial feel to it out of the box. It comes with/in a drawstring bag WITH MESH SIDES, so any water that is still on the hose when it is stored can easily evaporate. Both ends of the hose were wrapped in plastic wrap when I removed it from the box. The wrapping seems designed to protect the brass hose fittings from damage AND to prevent anything from getting into the hose before you use it. I've never seen or bought a hose that took such care! The Spray Nozzle feels substantial in your hand, and has a multiplicity of spraying options. They all work fine. The hose connected quickly and easily to the faucet and one end and to the Spray Nozzle at the other. No dripping or leaking anywhere.Cons: It's only 50-feet long when I wanted a 75-foot hose. There are NO INSTRUCTIONS with the hose or the Spray Nozzle. It would have been nice to have some indication covering: How to use to use the hose most effectively. How to prevent damage to the hose when using it. How best to store it over the winter, etc.The bottom line is that I'd buy it again! If 50-feet works for you, this is the hose to buy.If my opinion changes over time I'll update my review.

Ordered this in Aug 2019 and was initially very satisfied. I felt confident in my purchase because it even had a lifetime guarantee. Upon initial review I would probably give it 4 stars.The hose is very light and stretches well. The outer shell is fabric but seems pretty durable.I used the hose mostly for washing my car in my driveway, sometimes watering plants or filling up a kiddie pool.Unfortunately, after about 9 months it sprung a leak. I was quite disappointed but happy to remember about my lifetime warranty. I submitted a warranty request and received a response within 2 days telling me they were out of stock but expect more in 3 weeks. Ok, I can deal with that. I emailed back and asked if there was anything I needed to do to fulfill the warranty request... no response. After 4 weeks I email back asking for a status update... no response. It's now been 5 weeks and still nothing, so based on durability and customer service I am downgrading this to 1 star.

I researched a lot of coil type hoses and finally decided on this one. I hated to pay $50, but after looking at other hoses, decided to give it a try. Omg, I absolutely love it! I've used it a half dozen times and stretched it all the way out. It does everything it's advertised to do and I could not be happier. Good quality, lightweight, no leakage, no kinks, expands smoothly, good pressure, and then shrinks down with zero effort to fit neatly into a small pot (8x9") with room to spare. I turn the water off at the spigot and use the sprayer to drain the hose and it shrinks down automatically for storage. After using this hose, I've decided to buy another to replace a traditional hose and reel in my side yard. This hose does everything I hoped.UPDATE: So much for the lifetime warranty. I contacted the company after the hose sprang a leak about a year or so later. Very rude, no customer service whatsoever. The rep stated they didn't have time to replace it, as they had so many orders. She didn't even ask for buyer info. What?? This hose was great, until it wasn't. Major misrepresentation of 'lifetime' warranty. I bought a different brand for less and my fingers are crossed it will last longer. If not, Costco at least has a proven track record for refunds.

I saw the Lifetime warranty so I figured it'd be a level above all the other brands of flex-hoses. But as usual, it sprung a leak after about 9-10 months. These hoses are all roughly the same in quality, none of them will last much beyond a year. The material just can't withstand water pressure for long periods. I'll try for the warranty and see what happens. If they require that I return the bad hose to them then it's a bust.

The hose developed a hole within the 2nd week of use. Read the fine print at the bottom of the page: "Registration required within 2 weeks of purchase to activate the Lifetime Warranty". I totally missed this, as a result 'the hassle free replacement ' did not exist even though I had proof of purchase and date of same.

I’ve purchased garden hoses from home depot and other hardware stores, and they seem to wear out immediately and start leaking. I bought this expandable hose because of the lifetime replacement guarantee. I am super happy with my purchase. This hose is very lightweight and doesn’t take up much space. It expands to 50ft when filled with water, then shrinks back to a very small, compact hose when the water is removed. So light I could probably pick it up with 1 finger. And no KINKS!!! It also looks great and is of very high quality. Added bonus, a free spray nozzle!!! Awesome customer service too. They emailed me to make sure I had received my order and told me exactly what to do to register for the warranty.
