Works great
Used for a heat treat oven. The tub arrived intact and with the mud having the right consistency. Went on well, spread well, and great adhesion on soft fire brick.

Happy with the product
Used about a 1/4"-1/2" layer over 2" of 2800F ceramic insulating blanket on the inside of a 14" diameter galvanized pipe that I am crafting into a forge. The bottom of the forge is fire brick, so I also used this cement for its designed purpose and masoned the bricks in place with it. I ended up needing about a gallon and a half of the cement to set the bricks and cover the insulating kaowool (the forge surface is a semi-oval with a width of 10", a height of 8", and is about 20" long). . I let it dry for over a week in 90-100 degree weather and then heat treated it VERY. VERY. VERY. VERY slowly - over the course of about 5hr. I think the burners I made for the forge are a bit over-kill, though, because where the flames exited the forge (a small vent in the back of the forge) at full blast, the cement actually warped and bubbled up away from the kaowool This cement worked wonders in protecting the kaowool, and I could even touch the outside of the metal pipe without getting burned. There were three VERY small hairline cracks in the top and sides of the forge after heat treating. This was no problem for me - I just chipped away the warped bit in the vent (FYI it was ROCK solid - I had to use a tool to cave in the bubble), added extra cement to it, and rubbed some slurry into the cracks. I let it dry and then covered with ITC-100 (forge needs to be able to withstand 3K+). As such, considering it's purpose is to hold fire-brick together, and that I had planned on covering it up anyways - the cracking was not a big deal to me. The material did VERY well in holding the fire brick together and worked well for my forge design. I was a bit worried that such a thin layer wouldn't hold up - but this stuff is rock solid, despite the fluffy structure underneath it. The ITC-100 should provide even more strength. I hope this helps any DIY forge builders who are interested in this product for their project.

Worked better than I hoped
My fireplace original refractory panels were cracked and crumbling in places and they no longer make replacements. Universal panels are outrageously expensive so when o found this I decide to give it a try. This stuff dries very hard and it's heat rating is 1k degrees more than the original panels. With the right tools and proper mixture and a little patience put this right over the exiting panels and it looks and works perfectly. My fireplace is as good as new.

Had to find out the hard way that it takes ...
Had to find out the hard way that it takes along time to dry, but when it does it is very strong. If it dries out just add a little water to thin. Built a forge with fire brick, used the cement for the top made of 8 fire brick cemented together, still holding strong.

Propane Forge Repair
I used this to repair my propane forge, coated the entire lining of the firebrick with it. So far the temperature rating seems honest and the product is durable after its fired. Though something worth noting is it must be completely dry when heated for the first time, and it should be heated as slow as possible (which ended up being hard to do with my 200,000 btu burner) it ended up separating and bubbling where exposed to the most heat. There will be some smoking the first time its heated which will not be noticeable if your using it in a fireplace like it was intended. It's not fully cured until its heated for the first time thus getting the first time right is crucial.

Worked as described
I used this cement to lay firebricks in a used stove I bought. I'm not even sure if I needed to mud the bricks, but I thought it wouldn't hurt anything. Not having done this before, I used the same technique as I did laying tiles down. I spread a thin layer of mud and laid the bricks over it. In some areas, I had to use a thicker layer, because of warpage. I don't think the previous users of the stove had any bricks in there and the heat had warped the bottom and sides. If the mud holds up, I'll have perfect sides and bottom from now on.Anyhow, I have no experience in laying firebricks and using refractory cement, so if anything goes wrong it'll be a learning lesson for my next attempt.

Poor lid seal, but good product
Product is great, as described. However, as some others had said, the lid does not seal well. When I received the package, the lid had opened and leaked about 2 or 3 cups of cement out into the box. It was a big mess to clean up, but the cement had not dried out and was still functional.

Bad seal or mishandling caused loss of product
I ordered two of these on separate occasions. The first bucket was perfect. The second came with the lid open and very little padding to prevent this during shipping. I lost about 1/3 of the cement and the rest was beginning to dry making it challenging to use. But it still worked for what I needed. The shipping time was fast and the product itself is decent normally.
