Q: Is the back high enough that they don't slip off the foot?

no, it's not. it's a slip on (and it DOES slip off). It's also very clunky at the toe, so it trips me up. I can't wear mine because the lining came out so it's all sticky (after 2 weeks). I don't recommend.

super soft material, but the lining came out after 2 weeks. disappointing

Q: How long, and how often, did you wear them before the padding/cushioning flattened out and left no cushioning at all?

My original pair went for about 5 years of heavy use before flattening out. Then I got another pair. Wear them in the house every day & love them! Comfortable and durable.
