BLEEGGHH!!!! Strange putrid taste and smell - Had to spit it out. Beware the Almond Spice.
After seeing the macros on these bars, and reading a few nutritional articles in which this bar was promoted, I was impressed; I've become quite healthy, slim, and happy on Keto dieting, and am quite familiar with Keto- and Paleo-friendly food and ingredients, including many types of protein bars I've tried over the years. But I hadn't tried this particular brand or flavor - so I bought a 12-pack of the Primal Kitchen Almond Spice bars. I just received them today, and... I was sadly extremely disappointed, and quite frankly, disgusted. Not only was the bar incredibly tiny (which was mildly surprising, but fine - I've made my own bars of this caloric amount and similar ingredients, and they can sometimes come out to be dense and small), but then the taste was... shockingly awful. I'm not one to ever spit out anything - I honestly have a really wide range of taste preferences, and do not readily waste any food. But the Almond Spice flavor has something in it reminiscent of chemicals covering up... rot...? I thought it would pass, and I coached myself through the experience, trying to convince myself that it was all mental and perhaps it was just the initial strange combination of flavors... but the putrid taste intensifies and lingers as you chew it. I couldn't handle it enough to digest the bite, let alone try any more of the bars. I very rarely give up on a new product so quickly, and even more rarely take time to write a review, but I wish I had someone tell me about this before I spent $27 on a pack of inedible bars that I can't return.

Not for me
No. Just no. I had to return these. They are really, really small. The sweetener aftertaste is really over powering and I regularly use stevia and monk fruit. The texture stuck in my teeth and was overall very sticky but crumbly. Super oily in the wrapping and on the fingers. Overall a mess. I needed something with very minimal ingredients for a low carb, no cashew diet (hard to find) and these fit the bill on paper. Would not recommend.

+ whipped cream = dreamful
Not great by themselves, they taste chalky and very............ but add whipped cream and they are wonderful. I used heavy whipping cream and added vanilla & spearmint. Had 2 or 3 of them a day but by themselves, they are 'barely' edible

Tastes horrible
Absolutely, positively, abhorrently repulsive. Very small, smell and taste like barf and spiced soap. Been giving bites to everyone I know at work and home asking them if they like it they can have the box, so far every single person has spit it out. I dont understand how anyone could eat this. I'm not a picky eater by any means, and I've sometimes forced down bad tasting but healthy food products, so I wouldnt have to return them. This however, I wont even return. Amazing product if you want to watch your friends and family gag on the taste and forever lose their trust in whatever food you hand them. Other than that? Dont buy this.... seriously just dont do it.

Buy for the Healthiness of it, NOT the taste
I am a huge supporter of the Primal way of life and I totally trust Mark Sisson, BUT these Almond Spice things taste a little like plastic. The taste is pleasant enough to help you willingly digest its contents. Could be a bad batch or just me.The texture could make it or break it for people; its soft and moist, but at the same time it isn't. It's unlike traditional protein or meal replacement bars. It is NOT chewy, I can say for sure.Keep in mind that the older, more traditional bars they sell are totally fine; they taste good and there is nothing to complain about.

The flavor is not worth it!
I am giving up on the Primal Kitchen brand. I bought two boxes of bars, different flavors and then this supposed chocolate bar. Yes, you can read the list of ingredients and they sound good, Keto and all that. But then you eat the product and it is tasteless. They are producing an edible, healty CHORE. This is not pleasant, I don't care how healthy you tell me it is. Oh, I also bought their gummy snacks and the result was even worse... What is the point of making products with good ingredients if the final result borders on disgusting? Even the review questions here are irrelevant. Why don't you ask me for a flavor rating? ZERO stars. Eat at your own risk and expense!!!

Use These to Punish the Kids for Cussing...
The initial taste isn't bad, but halfway through it tastes literally like a bar of soap. I never write bad reviews, but I feel compelled to do so here. 100% Money wasted. I threw the entire box in the trash. I never do that either. Perhaps they were taste-tested by COVID patients I guess? Unbelievable!

Flavor falls short for me
I want to start with the fact that I bought the same brand in PB flavor and my BF LOVES it, also I have ZERO issue with the seller or quality of the product. The product came next day and I can tell it's fresh. The reason for my review is to say that while I was SO EXCITED at the sound of the flavor combo & I love all the ingredients separately, but this bar tastes like soap to me. I'm so bummed. Has anyone else had this same experience or is my mind playing tricks on me?
