KONG - ZoomGroom - Dog Brush for Grooming and Shampooing - Blue Brush for Large Dogs

My dog has medium length hair, this thing is amazing and good quality! My pup didn’t like getting brushed..she would try biting the brush handle and I thought I would try a handle less brush. She loves it like a massage and it got a ton of hair off already

I have a yellow lab that sheds ALOT. So weekly brushing is a must to somewhat control the amount of hair that gets on almost every surface of the house.pros:-It is impossible to irritate the dog's skin. You can tackle the same spot over and over again with as much force as you want because this thing will not irritate or pull on your dog's hair. There are times when the weather was great, I'd sit with my dog in the lawn and just brush him for 30+ minutes and he showed no sign of discomfort.-It can be used against the hair. The direction specifically says to go in circular motion to get out the loose hair trapped. This is great because you can go up and down, knocking off twice as much hair in one strike unlike other combs where you can only brush downwards.-Most importantly, it does its job. Knowing that this brush isn't pulling or cutting off your dog's hair like some other combs do, the amount of hair it manages to brush out is amazing.cons:It does not trap hair at all, so you must brush outdoor. It may be different for other dogs with longer hair, but with my lab, the hair this brush combs out just flies all over the air in lumps. This can be a hassle if you want to brush him but it rains for 3 straight days.Another small problem is that, although this only applies for my dog so yours may be different,my dog thinks this is a greatest rubber toy to chew on. So he will not stay still when I attempt to brush him, he tries to play with it. So I need another person to distract him with treats while I sneak up behind him and start brushing. First few times, be managed to bite of the end spikes and now it doesn't work as good as it used to. I did not hesitate to order one more, because it's so great! But again, this isn't the fault of the brush, it's my dog.

My Shiba Inu sheds! This brush gently removes hair and he loves to be brushed. He would run with the furminator. Keeps hair in the brush so it is contained in the brush A daily brushing keeps the house clean!

You'll notice that this product is not called a pet brush. This is more like a massaging tool that helps to remove some loose surface hair in the process. I haven't used it as a shampooer, but based on what I've experienced, I can see it working very well for that purpose.Compared to a furminator, shedding blade, or even a rake style brush, the ZoomGroom performs pretty mediocrily as far as removing loose hair. If you're looking for something to brush out loose hair, this is NOT the tool you're looking for. I used it on my medium-haired (similar to german shepherd hair) dog and it did not remove even a single strand of undercoat. I can tell the difference between his top coat and undercoat because they're different colors. However, it did remove some surface loose hair. It does make a mess as the hair gets all over the place, so just beware.The benefit of this tool over the other "brushes" is that the dogs love the feel of this, and sometimes, just pleasing your dog is the most important thing at that moment. My medium-hair dog would always walk away whenever I used the furminator on certain parts of his body, probably because it was uncomfortable. But he enjoys being "brushed" with the ZoomGroom. It's basically like petting your dog, except with a tool instead of directly with your hand--which is actually great if you don't want to dirty your hands too much.The ZoomGroom works better on short haired dogs (like a pitbull), particularly dogs without an undercoat. The furminator digs too deeply on short-haired dogs and I can feel its metal teeth sliding against their skin, even when I'm trying to brush them lightly. One of my dogs is a smaller Formosan Mountain Dog (short hair). He has a lot of undercoating around his neck area but not much at the rest of his body. So I use the furminator for his neck and the ZoomGroom for the rest of his body since I feel the furminator is too rough at those places.So to recap:Pros - - great as a massaging tool that dogs seem to enjoy, especially if you don't want to dirty your hands as much, in addition to removing a small amount of loose surface hairs - probably great a shampooer - good for brushing the surface coat, which helps to spread your dog's natural oils and keeps their coat nice and shiny - easy and comfortable to grip - did I mention that dogs enjoy being brushed with this over most other brushes?Cons - - not really a dog brush intended to remove loose hair, and does not remove any (or much) undercoat - messy; dog hair will get all over the placeIn most cases, this isn't a substitute for a real pet brush, but I think it's a nice addition. I see it more as a treat for my dogs, rather than a practical grooming tool.BTW, I notice it's called a grooming TOY. What's that mean? Is this also meant to be a toy for the dogs to play with?Side Note: I've read some other reviews that have said the ZoomGroom worked great on their dog's undercoat so maybe it just depends.

Kong is an amazing company! I have never once been disappointed with any purchase I have from them. I have purchased their dog toys, dog harnesses, dog leashes, etc. This dog brush is absolutely the best I have ever used. I have tried the bristles, the wires, those weird de-shedders. All of them. They work, but once you use the Zoom Groom, you will think they never worked at all. I take my Dalmatian to the groomers regularly. And she was having some allergy problems like most dogs do and lost some patches of hair. The groomer actually got me hooked on the Zoom Groom. It removes the loose hair so well. which allowed for her skin to breath better and heal faster. The rubber tips are great. My dog loves being brushed. You just start at the head and slowly work your way down. Next thing you know is that a big pile of hair is at her bottom and you brush it off. I truly have never found a brush work as well at this does. I do have to say that I wouldn't over brush your dog with it. I can see how it might irritate or actually start ripping healthy fur out. I have seen the groomers use it on all types of dogs. Long hair and short hair. And everyone of them at the dog salon swear my this product. The size is perfect to fit in your hand and have a good grip on it. Unlike most brushes that either have a handle or a strap, this is all a rubber material so its extremely easy to hold on to and work around your dogs neck and legs and tail. Although my brush never looks dirty, I do rinse it off in water and soap and let it dry.I highly recommend this product to anyone that has a dog. And once you use this, you will probably be like me and never use any other type of brush again. They also make a cat one that I am curious to try.

Zoom Groom is the best of all the similar type products that i have tried. It work great on the pets, also great for getting the hair out of our carpet as well.

Bürstet alle losen Haare aus dem Fell, unser Hund lässt sich die Massage sehr gut gefallen, auch an felldichten Stellen, die er mit anderen Bürsten sonst als empfindlich wertet. Mit dieser Bürste kann man auch sehr gut die Hundehaare die beim Bürsten auf der Besitzerhose oder auf Sesseln gelandet sind zusammenbürsten... Durch die handliche Größe kann man die Bürste auch gut mitnehmen und den Hund beim Spaziergang draußen bürsten. Kann man nur empfehlen.
