Reel is great, but pole broke in first month
I have been using this product for the past month and have. Caught a couple of nice bass on it, and the reel is very smooth. Get lots of great distance and seems to compare to more expensive reels. The pole from the beginning didn’t quite seem to match in quality but I figured it would be fine until earlier this week when the tip of the pole snapped off when I was retrieving my lure in open water. Overall, I would say this bait caster reel is nice for the price, but you may be better off putting it on a different pole.Update: After communication with Zhifu about the problem I was having they offered me a replacement product. They were very responsive and easy to work with.

You get what you pay for.
Disclaimer: I am by no means an expert at baitcasting. But I am not terrible either. I've been fishing for about 10 years.I wanted a travel setup so I bought this one. Thinking if it breaks or gets lost, it's not going to be a huge loss. Let me tell you. You better off just buying a cheap one at the BassPro. I have a couple of Daiwa spin caster reels I've had for a while. So the contrast between Daiwa and this setup was beyond drastic. Here are some shortcomings of this bait caster reel and rod.1. Cast control system: It's either on or off. The spot that actually controls the drag is so small, if you touch it, it will be either too tight or too loose and end up MASSIVE MASSIVE birdnest. I spent so much time untangling this thing. Very frustrating2. Drag: Very hard to refine the drag setup. Few times I actually managed to get the line out in the water, it was either free spooling or not letting the line when fish pulls. You turn about 1/5th it's on a different dimension of drag.3. Rod: Sections don't fit well. It's really really hard to get it seated all the way. I had to use soap to get it seated. This rod is also stiff as a broomstick. There is no flex so you actually have to swing hard to cast a decent distance. But when you do please see the above description. You will likely to be rewarded with an eagle's nest.I totally regret getting this. Actually, when I got back from the trip, I immediately grabbed my Daiwa and cast it backyard thinking that maybe it was me losing my mind and motor skill. Nope. I cast just fine with Daiwa.Save your money. Look for something else that actually you can fish with.

Snapped in half at factory joint
Love the style and handling of this rod. Second time on my boat I did a cast and the pole snapped in half forward of the reel at the factory joint. Very poor craftsmanship.

hard to reel
So, maybe we are just stupid, but neither my husband (who has fished for decades) nor I could work this thing.I ordered it in the hopes that it would help with my limited casting skills. Boy was I wrong. When my husband had similar problems with the line getting all messed up on the cast, I knew that this was a mistake.

When pulling the real out the real was not working properly and the drag wont set if i real slowly then the line part dosent move at all poor quality real i will be sending nack for a replacment to just see if maybe i got a defected real. As of the rest of it, it is a great looking set.
