Disappointed
Disappointed in the overall quality of this product. I was under the impression that Howard Miller clocks were made in the U.S. Not this one! It is made in China and the detail to craftsmanship is lacking. More of a production item. The paper on the face of the clock has both blemishes and a drip mark. The finish is closer to red and black vs. the bronze finish as pictured. Shame on Howard Miller. I called them directly and questioned as well. For the price paid this is unsatisfactory. I will be returning.

Looks like an antique!
This wall clock looks like an expensive antique timepiece. I love it. It is the perfect size. I have it in my kitchen and can be viewed from my family room, breakfast room and the kitchen which is where we are most of the day. It could also easily go above a mantle, a dining room, etc. I highly recommend this clock if it goes with your decor. This will go with everything except contemporary. If you like the look, don't hesitate.

Nice
The good -- It's hard for me to rave about a clock -- though I do really like the bronzed look. It is real metal & glass unlike some lesser expensive clocks I have shopped for -- it has some weight to it. It is a traditional, French- country style -- can't go wrong if your theme is warm and country-like -- nothing risky or flashy about this clock. It has some nice rope details to hold the glass in place.Since It will be a focal point on the wall, a long term fixture, it is worth the extra expense for that feeling of quality you might not get from the clocks sold for 20 dollars @ at Big Lots. While it is a substantial size, go look at a 26 inch mountain bike wheel for reference -- it can be hung without any help (though it is nice to have somebody to assist with height).File under -- no big deal -- But do buy your hardware in advance. -- none was supplied by the manufacturer. I have paneling in this room so normally I need special hardware anyways -- I used hollow wall toggle bolts ( anchors for drywall aren't too helpful with paneling). You might have to save the box, it is extremely well packed and (the box) is useful for installing the arms. I dislike keeping these items but may make an exception on this in case it needs to be warranted. The bad -- I do hope your clock comes with the arms installed. With zero instruction you'll most likely need to wrench 8 nuts & 2 screws for about between 15 & 30 minutes before you can even begin to mount it to the wall! (Those 4 copper colored trim pieces hold the glass on.) Of course this seems unnecessary! Left me to wonder -- why aren't they installed at the factory? It was a Christmas present for my mom who remarked that she would be in tears if she was left to do this without my help. -- consider this if you don't own.a wrench (or you aren't very handy or you figure -- for $200 it should come assembled)). If you can put a puzzle together then you should figure out the hour hand goes on first on the bottom.-- at least it did on ours -- which seems to be working fine.Last thing, I have had clocks this large before and the glass in the front lifted up using a hinge to adjust time -- this clock must be taken down and 2 screws must be removed to change time -- bit troublesome.4 stars for the overall product -- minus 1 star for the uninstalled arms & poor design to adjust time.

OUTSTANDING
Beautiful clock, very well made, and weighty. Bonus is the Roman Number IV is correct instead of the usual Howard Miller IIII... nice touch for the purist.

This is supposed to be an INDOOR/OUTDOOR clock.
After 2 years on my patio under the eave and behind my pergola, the clock hands are deteriorating, there are signs of weather or humidity INSIDE the clock face. The hands look "weathered". I purchased this clock for my patio. It is always covered and no rain ever gets there because of the eave and the pergola yet it looks like it was left outside to face the Florida sun, wind and rain!! This should not have happened.

Big and Beautiful
Clock is LARGE but looks great over our fireplace. When we first put it up we kept saying "That sure is a big clock". Our father-in-law said leave it up for a couple of weeks and then decide. He was right we love it, first reviewer was also right classic styling, very accurate and I will add also very large

Special version, up side down Howard Miller clock?!
Let me start with the positive ;) very nice looking clock which I would have given 5 stars only for looks, but...When I wanted to hang this clock (in my office) the mounting bracket (if that's what it is, maybe I'm being dumb) on the back of the clock seems to be at the 6. So if I would have used that, 12 o clock would be 6 o clock and 6 o clock would be 12 o clock. Is this making sense?Anyway, I still hung the clock eventually....

Arrived, unpacked stuck a AA battery in and hung it on the wall. Works perfectly and keeps the time spot on. It’s big and looks grand, stylish and classical
