American Meltdown: Book Two of the Economic Collapse Chronicles
D**A
Hopefully, A Cautionary Tale!
As in Book One of the Trilogy, author Mark Goodwin continues to build a dystopian story right out of today's world news -- and the Obama administration playbook. The author's teaching on Romans 13 is precisely what we have taught at AmericaAgain! for years: in America's constitutional context, We The People are "the authorities over you" or "the higher powers" when one is speaking of a public employee or elected servant in the Romans 13 teaching. In the U.S. Constitution, We The People first created, then defined, and then carefully circumscribed (limited the powers of) our servant government. The public servant -- NOT the citizen -- should be living in fear of "the higher powers" ordained by God over them!Because this 5th-grade civics has not been taught in government schools for at least three generations, Americans are as historically illiterate, and as ignorant of basic America civics, as any North Korean or Mexican would be. Clueless, thus unable *and unwilling* to govern themselves.Repeatedly in both books of the trilogy thus far, Mark Goodwin beautifully captures this retrograde American condition. The majority of city-dwellers are simply incapable of self-government; they are Marxist drones and serfs; very likely, no amount of hardship will transform them. This is where author Goodwin beautifully paints the picture of America's future: as the individual characters come alive on the pages of 'American Exit Strategy' and now 'American Meltdown', you can recognize your brother-in-law; your co-worker or neighbor -- alas, perhaps yourself.'American Meltdown' melds Civil War II with Great Depression II more fully than I think will be the case -- at least I certainly hope so. I simply don't think that a second War Between the States, with limited military engagements as the book depicts, will be tenable.I do think brother Goodwin paints Texas accurately. If the dystopian cataclysm painted in this book should transpire, millions of us in Texas are prepared to revert quickly back to our sovereign Republic status. In fact, a few million are ready to do that even now. Still, millions more in the major Texas cities will remain on the dole, clueless. Unfortunately, we are now seeing Californians here like a plague -- a cancer, demanding the same lifestyle and government handouts and control that they were used to back in the Marxist Republic of Californication. I wish they'd either learn to assimilate, or as we say of Mexicans unwilling to assimilate in Texas -- go back where you came from.I'm not sure what to think of brother Goodwin's depiction of antagonist President Anthony Howe; one wishes such a thing couldn't happen now in America.I can certainly see as evil a man in the White House as President Howe. No one can eclipse Abe Lincoln as a monster; butcher of Americans and of our Constitution. Read 'Lincoln Unmasked' by Thomas DiLorenzo, 'The Unpopular Mr. Lincoln' by Larry Tagg, or 'America's Caesar' by Greg Durand, to grasp how propagandized you were in school.Or read the heavily documented, first-person-account, history of Pearl Harbor in classic books such as 'Pearl Harbor: The Seeds and Fruits of Infamy', by Percy Greaves (written in 1947 but covered up for 60 years); or 'Pearl Harbor: The Story of the Secret War' by George Morgenstern, or 'Day of Deceit' by Robert Stinnett. These books and dozens like them have laid to rest three generations of propaganda taught in America's government schools. Thus, while Lincoln was far more evil than President Anthony Howe in the book (so was FDR, and I think LBJ in many respects was, as well), in this Internet age we would ask: can an American president get away with the kind of bloody murder that this evil character devises? Alas: George W. Bush and Barack Hussein Obama perhaps already have. The truth is already emerging about the 9/11 hoax, and the petrochem plunder in Iraq and Afghanistan, as finally happened with the so-called 'Civil War', the world wars, Vietnam, et al.I think Mark goes too far in the level of control he gives to the oft-mentioned, nefarious 'Money Powers' of conspiracy circles. Of course there are conspiracies in all civilizations, but to grant them the total control that brother Goodwin does in this book, stretches credulity more than my mind will entertain. We The People have a secret weapon, the AmericaAgain! Indictment Engine(tm), that may finally end this 150-year-old hijacking forever. It does not appear that Americans will commit to action until the collapse actually comes, and wakes them from their stupor. But if we can roll it out quickly enough, the Indictment Engine(tm) will take mere months to begin arresting D.C. organized crime without firing a shot, and without requiring a rural/urban civil war. With only about 1% of the adult population engaged in the AmericaAgain! Indictment Engine(tm) actions, using a front line offense consisting of our State criminal courts, Oathkeepers, and Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association (CSPOA), We The People can restore the limits stipulated in the Constitution. We can restore lawful (gold and silver) money stipulated in the law, that has been counterfeited in paper for 152 years.Mark Goodwin's first trilogy is thus far an excellent Christian work among the dystopian novels today. I had sought a novel that covers the coming collapse in a believable, 'you are there' format that gives me a taste of what we will really face; really see and have to work through in the days, weeks, months, and years after the inevitable financial collapse. As mentioned before, I believe that if AmericaAgain! launches in a timely manner when the tidal wave hits, we can avoid the civil war scenario painted in this book.At least this is my hope, that brother Goodwin has written a cautionary tale. In any case, this second book in the trilogy is like the first: it leaves the reader awaiting the next installment, with bated breath.David M Zuniga, PEFounder, AmericaAgain!Author, 'This Bloodless Liberty'

A lot of action and this book has left me wondering how this will all work out. Guess I have to read book three to find out .

pure and holly in a desperate time
Makes sense, the scenarios are believable and possible. The characters are relatable and endearing. Mark Goodwin has a Biblical world view and an understanding of what the world may become in the future ahead.

American Meltdown.
I've read the book three times now and each time walked away with the same overall impression. Mr Goodwin obviously has a very firm grasp on economics and the facts that will likely lead to the collapse of the American economy. I'm less impressed with some of the premises he makes about just where the Administration is heading. I'm not a conspiracy theorist so the whole "Bones and Skull" theory leaves me flat. I can't deny that many Presidents seemed to have been groomed for the position but I believe in the whole international world domination conspiracy as much as I believe that the Illuminati exist. But I didn't downgrade my evaluation because of that; I can't prove they don't exist anymore than he can prove they exist. It does make for an exciting tale though. Now, why did I give it four stars? Well, editing and grammar as well as some misspelled/misused words. You see that a lot in this type of literature, especially that which is self-published. So much so that I'm beginning to think it is actually Kindle/Amazon's fault. The big thing for me though is the almost overpowering Evangelical Proselytizing. Up front, I am Catholic. I have a good friend that is an Evangelical and we argue constantly about the differences in our respective beliefs. We are always respectful and the discussions can be very lively but are never judgmental and are quite enjoyable. But we both agree that all the Judeo-Christian religions are under attack in Western "culture" and that we must "hang together or hang alone". I would like to see at least one book (insert shameless self advertisement here) that deals with that issue. Every religion out there that derives from the Judeo-Christian traditions must understand that we will be taken down if we refuse to stand with our brothers and sisters.

Country in peril
Even though this book is fiction the premise is quite believable. We can see it unfolding before us with the number of American citizens ready and willing to give up their freedoms for handouts. In this second book the coalition of states stands their ground against a tyrannical federal government. Those states that tried to be neutral find out there is no neutrality possible and that they have waited to late. I find it ironic that one of those states is Georgia where I live. I am watching a once solid state willing to give up before my eyes and it saddens me and makes me angry at the same time. After an ambush fails and turns out to be a betrayal, Matt, Adam, and Wesley are seperated-1 captured, 1 hiding, and 1 killed. And Howe has been given a directive for action that may be the end of the coalition states. Can't wait to see what happens next.
