Sharp yes, but blade chips very easily
So my headline sums it up: the knife is sharp and cuts soft-skinned things liked tomatoes quite nicely. But, it chipped within a month of use. Sure, I wasn't using the sheath religiously and sure it basically got jumbled in the silver drawer, BUT a metal knife doesn't chip like this chipped. And it's still chipping. Little bits breaking off here and there. I still use it though because I am too lazy to turn around and pull a metal knife out of the block on the counter behind me. So there's that: good for lazy people who don't mind eating bits of knife ceramic in their tomato slices.

Oneida Ceramic Santoku Knife
This knife cuts like a new razor blade. I use it almost daily...cuts through baby back ribs, chicken bones, cardboard, raw potatoes, etc. and never gets dull like other ceramic knives that I have purchased in department stores.

Consider it a disposable or limited life product.
I was extremely impressed with this knife when it was brand new. However, after about two years or so, the edge was so bad that I contacted Oneida. On their website they say the knife has a limited lifetime warranty. Which is also what I was told when I purchased this in-store. However, Oneida customer support redirected me to Robinson Home Products and they weren't much help either.I was told I cannot sharpen it at home and they didn't mention any approved professionals whom I can get it done through. So I asked if the warranty would cover damages caused to the knife in the process of getting it sharpened(from a professional I found in 'the phone book' as per the rep's suggestion). And that's when they stopped replying to my email. They didn't even offer to sharpen the knife if I shipped it back to them.So really, why wouldn't you just check out a stainless steel knife that you could regularly hone and even sharpen or get sharpened easily? Avoid. This. Knife.

LOVE IT
I've come to love Ceramic knives. This one is very sharp and having the sheath (cover) for it is so wonderful. It not only protects the knife but protects your fingers. It is comfortable to use also.

Awesome knife!!
love it! I had a previous knife by a different manufacturer that came apart. My husband purchased the paring knife and I love it. well made and stays sharp. I bought this because of the paring knife and it has lived up to my expectations! It is very sharp and useful when chopping veggies. I love that it has a cover also. No more cutting my fingers when getting it out of the drawer. Couldn't be happier with my purchase!
