LEGO Friends Advent Calendar 41353, New 2018 Edition, Small Building Toys, Christmas Countdown Calendar for Kids (500 Pieces)

My 8 year old has loved this calander. I have waited til will we partially thru it to write the review so I could gauge her response. It is the highlight of the day for her. She is able to assemble the product each day without help and within 1-2 minutes. The ornaments are great and will look great on her mini tree she has in her room. I have seen complaints from others about not having any actual friends characters in the box, but to be honest, I didn’t expect any. because the description on the sellers listing, as well as the box itself, and the actual Lego sight all show what is in the box. MINI-ORNAMENTS. We loved it.

My 6 year old daughter has 5 teenage brothers so she has lots of hand-me-down toys. She likes Legos but she's mostly done free-style creations. She's also obsessed with calendars and much to my chagrin, Christmas. I've looked at the Lego advent calendars in years past but they were just too expensive to do x5 or 6. This year, I caught a lightning deal and figured the little one would be the only one to care. I'm not into the "everything pink for girls" mentality but when I looked at the available options, the Friends set was the most Christmasy. It's probably the one I'd have chosen for one of my boys when they were younger too. I got it weeks before Dec. 1 and had to just sit on it but when I brought it out, my daughter was over the moon. Every morning in December, she woke up, came to give me a hug, and told me she needed to go do her Lego for the day. Every night before bed, she double checked how many days were left until Christmas.Because she's mostly only done freestyle Lego stuff, the first few days, I had to help her understand the instructions a little. That didn't last long at all. I might have been a little disappointed the first time she came to show me the creation she'd made without even telling me so I could be there with her. There was one where the instructions were a little frustrating but we figured it out.Every day's project included extra pieces which got a little amusing because she insisted on using every piece (Hello snowman that included an extra carrot!)She was so proud to hang each of her Lego creations on the Christmas tree though and when her brothers came home from the other parent's house (blended family) she couldn't wait to show them what she'd made and how many days were left till Christmas.I will definitely be watching for deals on past years' calendars or next year's that appeal to us because this calendar was pretty much the highlight of my daughter's (and in turn, my) Christmas this year. At the full MSRP, I'm not 100% but if I see any little discount, I'll be grabbing one for next year.

I bought this for my grand daughter. I gave it to the family Dec 1 and they opened everyday til Christmas. They love it and it’s fun to see the ornaments on their tree. The ornaments are really small but super cute. I think my son in law likes it more than anyone but it’s his special thing he does with his daughter everyday . Home run!

This set is awesome! I’m not sure why they made it appear like it’s for girls only. This is a great set for boys and girls alike. In fact I think it’s a better value and more fun to assemble than their “for boys” advent calendars. We will likely purchase one of these sets each year if they keep updating them.The best part is that each of the mini-sets has a place to hang them on a Christmas tree.

It comes in a package with only girls on the outside. The calendar is pink and purple. I thought it would be gender neutral but after my son saw it he was really upset because he thought it was a “girl” gift. He’s over it and building the days. It’s very cute and even though he’s grown out of Legos he is still enjoying this. They should package it differently though.

It was fun for my daughter to have something new to build each day, but they were hard to play with. What are you going to do with a Lego Christmas stocking? And like with many of the newer LEGO sets, the pieces are so specific it’s hard to use them when building something else.

My kids are really enjoying this! I have an 8 year old girl and an 11 year old boy. The LEGO items are Christmas things like; stocking, snowman, a fireplace or a heart to name a few.I am pleased with the package and presentation.We didn’t know the picture to assemble was on the inside flap of the day. My kids have no problem following the pictorial directions to build.This is our first LEGO advent calendar. Recommend.

Update:Including a picture of Day 1. Pieces are bigger that we thought. My daughter just loves it, wakes up every morning excited to open a new box and build her lego ornament.My daughter is super excited with this adevnt calendar. She has not opened yet as I bought for this upcoming Christmas. But she is very excited and the lego pieces look adorable. We don't mind that it doesn't bring any characters, we love the fact that you build the decorations and can then put then on your Christmas Tree.

Fue un regalo para mi niña y le fascinó. Viene un regalo en cada casilla y en la "puerta" correspondiente vienen las instrucciones de armado. Una vez armado se pueden colocar en el árbol. Llegó en tiempo y forma.

My step daughter is 11 and loves it! The price that I got it for was also a steal. It’s a great alternative fir kids that don’t like chocolate and/or parents that want to do something different than the regular old advent calendar.

6 year old daughter loved this friends LEGO advent calendar only disappointment was she got a duplicate. Instead on a roller skate (which she was so excited about) she got the gingerbread man twice. But I would still buy again cuz all the other logo toys were so cute and were ornaments on out tree.
