Proper gauge and appearance woodwork--Can be done with ease.
Totally recommend, IF, you have some fundamental wood working skills. The steel insignia on top is awesome. Great stand in appearance. However for me with concerns of liability if 8 katanas fall on many grandchildren most frightening. NO PROBLEM. I always change wall mounts to withstand CA earthquates and assault by 13 grandchildren. Ergo, I automatically change mountings to "Gorilla Strong." As others sell, needs a middle back brace as others suggested. Emblem is great and a must have. Therefore, use slightly larger wood screws, and properly countersink them to perfect level with board. Then, as covers, pick among thousands of embroidered martial arts dragons, etc. and use 3M very thin double sided tape to cover all holes and tone the presentation down a bit for the little ones. That way they will love it too. For "Gorilla mounting," Home Depot or other store has all you need and very simple. Use the cross-member boards by, 1) countersink 2 screws on each cross-member into what you consider safe. I go with enough that they could jump-up-and-down and swing on it (like 300 or more test pounds--no way 8 katanas are going to fall on my grandcildren). Then if anchored in the wall stud great, if not go big. Then use a larger bit to counter-sink head of screw. Cover with fancy brase screw cover, or cheap, but perfect, plastic two-connected part flat black (or other colored cover) and simply snap over screw hole. Best yet, search Amzaon for embrodiered dragon, tiger, etc. to cover holes for wall moumting. I consider these optimum and finished product is easy to do and personalized--for only a few and well priced products--stricking difference. Moreover, it is great for young grandchildren as they spend more time looking at the multitude of embroidered images very easily attached with 3M, very thin, 2 sided tape. When finished, far more than worth the time and effort and experience tells me children see the incredible brightly colored embroideried images and immediately coming attached to them (e.g., the "Dragon Rack" etc). Creates harmony AND SAFETY IN THE HOME. So it takes some extra work. It is well worth it. Buy. After months I have a desk covered in embroidered emblems that my children and grandchilren absolutely love to look at. When mounted, is will be incredibly strong, safe, colorful and magnificant. If craddled parts allow sliding on the back or forward as a druken sailer, roll red felt with layers of wood glue and make your top tier so tight that the exposed blade is securely held in the position you wish for showing its humble but powerful features. Lots of complaints on a lot of websites, but this an incredibly important issue (e.g., 8 katanas falling from high on a wall coming out of their scabards. Can't have that, so please take please in making your home or gym 100% safe and enjoy this fine product for ages and ages. Buy.

Functional and easy to install
This isn’t like a hand made item, but the purpose is to showcase my son’s creations and it does that well. It doesn’t look cheap, looks like wood looks the swords. It perfectly fits our needs. I’m thinking of getting second one to balance out the wall.I didn’t use the attached hanging hardware but just drilled right through the wood into the wall so it would be flush against the wall. This was easier anyway and I don’t have to worry about putting too much weight on it. So I guess the only negative is the flimsy hanging hardware.

Had it two years and it's great!
I've had this for over two years and I have had it hold some very heavy weapons such as an all metal spear and I have had no problems what so ever it is very sturdy and easy to assemble. I highly recommend to anyone wanting to buy. Also some of the reviews said that the big metal symbol falling off, but mine has not had a problem.

Good for the price
Wood is pretty good, metal accent with the samurai is very well done. Would have been five stars but it did not come with screws to mount to the wall and I could not find any that would fit the tiny opening that it has for mounting. Some modifications and it worked well, looks nice. Overall I would recommend this product.

Stability
Bought this for my husband for Christmas he enjoyed putting it together and he loves it so much. He had been looking for a place to put his swords on. I got good girl points for this gift.
