Amazing Device. The 4500 X 3000 screen resolution alone makes it worth it...
While I love my Dell XPS AIO computer (since discontinued) we have in the house, I needed a second one for myself as a teacher and grad student going for an advanced degree. I looked at getting another Dell XPS (avail refurbished) but came across this in my research, and I'm really happy with this.My issue is eyestrain/headaches from computer use and I realized I need a computer with a minimum of 3840 x 2160, which my Dell is. Below that level, I hate the screen resolution, especially reading text. On this Microsoft Surface, text is razor sharp and the images really pop. Thank goodness for refurbished (my Dell was too - no issues with refurbished here on Amazon) because I could not afford a new one of these. It's still hefty at over $2,000, but the increased productivity, less eyestrain, etc. make up for that. This computer is fast, stunning looking, and the 4500 x 3000 screen resolution is jaw dropping. Video blows me away, and when reading an article, the text is unbelievably crisp and sharp without the slight fuzziness around the edges you get from standard resolutions, even 1080p.Along with other reviewers, I'd be hard pressed to convince someone this is refurbished. I am the customer from hell and very OCD when it comes to electronics and that being said, this thing was PRISTINE right out of the box. It looks brand spanking new, and I'm the type to look at every inch with a flashlight. I am seriously impressed. If, like me, you're very fussy about screen resolution and suffer from computer headaches/eyestrain, this is a fantastic choice if you're in the market for a desktop.

Awesome touch screen, resolutions, tilt concept! Must have and easy on the eyes!
This i7/32g Surface Studio is perfect and fast. The screen image is beyond compare and easy on the eyes. System works perfect and all pixels are perfect. Came like new in a factory box, factory wrapped. Did the updates and the system is fast and smooth. All the accessories that came with it are brand new and work perfect. If you need to be productive for work or play on a computer this is a must have! It comes with a one year warranty from MS. This is a profoundly great deal vs a new one. Also bought the extended warranty offered. This is a no brainier for the value.Update: have been using for a week now and its still perfect. There are no words for how awesome the screen and concept of tilt and touch is, if you use your computer for work, web, photo editing, WP, ect.. There is not one error logged in system and all the devices are constantly.Update 2: The surface gave me the option to buy the MS Complete 2yr plan about 2 weeks in and decided to buy from MS, instead of the 3rd party. (the unit comes with 1 yr MS warranty). The Studio power supply went and was dead, called MS and new one was shipped out and has been perfect. Great support from MS. Still worth the hassel for how awesome it is.One of the main diff vs the 2gen model is the screen brightness, 2gen is %40 brighter screen . But, I can't run it much over 50% brightness w/o burning my eyes, in a room with plenty of natural light and over head lighting.Honestly its made work time twice as productive and enjoyable. I would say what ever you spend on this you will make back, in time over a year or less. And to book, ran the serialnum through MSbusiness site and states 1 year warr with replacement service from the purchase date here. So you get the same factory warr as new one.

Superb display, great computer
I got tired of my small screen puter and was lucky to learn about this one. Incredible luxury to have all this screen area to place different windows; or, all this screen on which to show/work on photos. I haven't learned enough about the touch screen features yet, but that promises to be another great feature. This isn't the very latest model, but it works superbly. Unless one is using the very most demanding software, this thing is totally sufficient. Fast, good audio, brilliant screen. The only thing I would wish to change would be the location of the ports -- they're all on the back of the base, totally inaccessible if you're sitting in front of the puter. But, never mind; I love this thing.

Great computer!!!
Mine arrived used. I noticed the protective plastic covering the screen was ripped, but the screen and the rest of the PC was still in pristine condition. The machine already had a user logged in, so I doubt they did anything to “renew” or refurbish this product. I contacted the seller on instructions to restore the machine to factory without password, as someone else’s account is already on it. Andy, gave good step by step instructions, but it took a whole day to completely remove data and restore to factory. So just be prepared to do some work to get it going., because it may not be plug and play experience. But I think the discounted price compared to a new machine makes it worth the extra effort.

Seller communication is poor; Awesome computer
I love the computer. it was literally everything that I expected. The packaging was perfect and it seemed brand new! Plus it comes with a warranty from Microsoft. The only thing that sucked was the communication with the seller. The battery in the mouse exploded at some point. So the mouse didn’t work at all. Luckily I live in Los Angels and there is a Microsoft store near my apartment. They exchanged it with no questions asked at all, but I still have yet to hear from the seller and I messaged them immediately

Priced great
A beefy surface studio model 1 priced thousands less than the model 2 - (which I considered. but the price and the savings made this older model the right value for me).To me, it comparable to the 2017 27 inch Imac, but with more flash, bells, and whistles. It feels newer, more modern, than the Imac -- With the touch screen, pen and hockey puck dongle --it feels like a serious upgrade.I'm agnostic about operating systems, the mac OS isn't that much better, so I really don't have a preference anymore. The Apple wireless keyboard and mouse are better I think, but nothing wrong with what came with the studio, though I don't think time will change my opinion about this. It's a nice looking machine, well built and not as stodgy as Imac has become.
