Private revelations of purgatory to St Catherine of Genoa
This book is an autobiographical account of revelations received by St Catherine. She speaks of it as being both a sorrowful and joyful place and the purifying fires as a reflection of Godβs love. Her account is quite different from other stories from people who have encountered souls in purgatory who plead for prayers and sacrifices to hasten their release into Heaven as they were in great pain.

Purgatory - IT"s Not Limbo
Not for everyone. If you're a Catholic wondering what ever happened to purgatory...St Catherine of Genoa was quite the woman. Not only did she manage a hospital for the poor, be a wife, but was honored with visions from our Lord which included seeing purgatory, which is a hopeful place where you know that the Lord has already accepted your soul to heaven and that there is no going to hell from here. She writes that we don't worry about who is "going on" before us (there is no sense of time) or remember the particular sins which brought us there, or to whom we hurt through our mortal sins, we only feel and understand that God is purifying us and that our remorse is in our distance from Him

A lot of information for a little book
I really liked it but at times I had to read some of it several times to make sure that I was understanding what the author was trying to describe. However, it is a good book for those of us who are just starting to read books about purgatory. I grew up with the Baltimore Cat in the 50'sand we didn't learn much then. We just knew that we might have to spend some time there before we would go to heaven. It is great to have a book that was written over 500 years ago.

The mystery of the Creator.
This book, written by St Catherine of Genoa, is about the agony and pain experienced byThe human heart, in its longing for the Creator. It is a terrible book to read, because it will cause many previously rational and balancedPeople to leave this world of foolish things, and, worship God.Now the minutiae. I am not an expert on Catholic theology. It is true that the Catholic ChurchBelieves Heaven and Hell to be states of being, other than also being destinationsOf the soul after death. For the curious, I am an Anglican.

Most informative
Purgatory is still very mysterious. But much was revealed to St Catherine of Genoa. This information is extremely helpful for our spiritual life, and it encourages us to live very godly lives. And to take religion very seriously.
