Kids are little people, treat them accordingly
Very nice short vignets usefulin child rearing. Consistency is key . Respect is key. Personal space is key. Sociability and cooperation are key. Encouragement is key. Your kid is not always perfect, the best etc, but you should love him/her and let them know.

Material Already Covered in French Kids Don't Throw Food
This book is just a summary of all the experiences the author went through in short in her first book French kids don't throw food, and shortened into quick tips. Frankly not worth the 10 bucks we paid for in the Kindle edition. Some recipes in the end were good. But if you already read the first book, then don't bother getting this one as that one gave a lot of good advice and experiences you already find in this book. I read this french parents don't give in in one day.

A good counter to the PC bridgade of child rearers!
A no nonsense sensible approach to child rearing. What grannies did and say but this 'trends it up' for young mothers.

Not polarising and very enjoyable.
I have come across many books that push a point of view across and in turn become very polarising if the amazon review charts are anything to go by. I found this book a very elegant read and one that presents a way another culture approaches parenting. As such, the book allowed me to pick what i want to take away from it and it provided me with an insight into french culture which i found enlightening. I recommend it. Now i will go and read "French kids dont throw food" :)

Great advise
Excellent list! I strongly suggest it to all parents to be. The best would be spending some time in France to observe families with small children.

Avaliação do livro French parenta don't give in.
Excelente. Adorei. Um livro conciso e muito esclarecedor em termos educativos. Não é à toa que tentei compra-lo no Canadá e estava esgotado em todas as livrarias que fui.

French parenting
Excellent book you can dip in and out of. Friends and family bought me various parenting books (I don't know why she bothers, Keep calm The new mum's manual) and this is the one I prefer. Probably because it doesn't tell you what to do. It simply describes what middle class French mothers do. For most of it I find it a sensible way of raising children. I just bought it for a friend of mine who is expecting her first child. She liked it very much too.
