It is a bright light for the money and is a good bargain. It is a high quality led
I purchased this led for my surefire g2 to replace the incandescent bulb. It is a bright light for the money and is a good bargain. It is a high quality led.The reason for the four stars is because it is overrated on light output, it is comparable to my 150 lumens streamlight, and you have to trim the large outer spring for it to fit in the g2 light body for the flashlight head to screw all the way down. It will work without trimming the spring but the head has a large gap between it and the body of the flashlight and does not seat flush. I trimmed off two coils of the spring so now it all fits flush.

Perfect replacement for SUREFIRE P60 bulb unit
This is an excellent replacement for SUREFIRE P60 bulb unit. It comes with the gold plated spring contacts shown, which even SUREFIRE does not supply, and drops right in. It clearly puts out 2-3x the light power of the original SUREFIRE, at about half the price. And, I found it would put out adequate light for day to day use when the batteries were below the level SUREFIRE will not light at all (about 2.6 volts). I am therefore expecting, for half the price, twice the light, for twice as long.I believe most, or all, the competitive SUREFIRE P60 replacements contain counterfeit Cree LED, and even this one might not be genuine, since CREE is an American company and this unit came from China. However, it is clearly a quality piece of equipment that more than justifies the price.

I bought this for a Surefire 6P flashlight when the ...
I bought this for a Surefire 6P flashlight when the original bulb finally burned out. The description says it will work for this flashlight, but you may have to remove the large spring. When I first installed it with the large spring, it did not fit, as I expected. So I removed the large spring and re-installed it. The small spring broke off immediately and now it doesn't work at all. Furthermore, even with no spring, it is still too large and the flashlight head assembly won't screw all the way down. And finally, my bulb does not say 'CREE-Q5' as is shown in the photo on Amazon. It came in a small plastic bag that does say 'CREE', but it's not on the bulb, so I don't know if mine is genuine or not. Also, it looks completely different than the one on the photo. I'll be returning it.

Great, cost effective upgrade for my Surefire G2
I'm really happy with this purchase. My old (15 years old, I think) Surefire G2's beam was so yellow and weak compared to my newer Surefire and Fenix LED lights, I considered throwing it away. Instead, I spent 10 bucks for this "Cree Q5 Led Bulb" that quadrupled the brightness, and throws a nice smooth white beam. The most cost effective money I've spent in some time. The bulb module fit without modifications, though it requires some effort to screw down the head completely, I will probably take out a turn of the coil for a better fit.

Good light throw. Small, focused beam pattern.
Much brighter than the OEM Surefire P90 bulb that came with my Surefire G3 (that is functional since 2007), but the beam is small and focused. It simulates a projector beam pattern with a little stray light.

Fit perfect into my 6P Surefire with no problem
Fit perfect into my 6P Surefire with no problem. It is brighter than the OEM bulb but has a dead spot in the middle of the light spot. Other than that not a bad upgrade.

Don't waste your money...
If this is supposed to be for the Surefire 6P or 9P then WHY DOESN'T IT FIT PROPERLY?!?! The body of the lamp is too long and even if you cut the spring down to size it still doesn't fit tight enough to be certain that the head of the light will remain water resistant. My advice - pass on this one.

Avoid.... Buy the actual sure fire unit
Required modification to fit and then generated massive amounts of heat. Do yourself a favor and just buy the sure fire unit to convert your old light, I did and it's just as bright as this thing and doesn't make my light super hot.
