Good wet grass shoe
The Muck Boot Muckster Ll Men's Rubber Garden Shoes do well for what they were designed to do: keep your feet dry in wet grass. I have not had mine long enough to determine whether they will hold up over time. But I have some first impressions:1. Since there are no half sizes, the buyer will have to decide whether to buy a half size down or a half size up. I normally wear either a 10 1/2 or 11. I bought the 11, and they are a little roomy for me. I had an good quality pair of insoles sitting around, and I put them in these Muckster shoes to get me a little more arch support as well as help with the roominess. They had been moving slightly up-and-down in the back as I walked. The insoles took care of that problem. I suspect over time that problem would diminish anyway as the shoes break in and conform to my feet better.2. For a pair of rubber/neoprene shoes, these are surprisingly comfortable. It is possible to wear them around the house without your feet feeling overly hot and sweaty. One would have thought that these would quickly cause your feet to sweat, but that is not the case. Even so, I would not even attempt to hike in them on a hot day. I have a pair of GTX hiking boots and GTX sneakers that provide waterproof hiking and walking. So, these shoes for me are just for walking in the wet early morning grass when I take the dogs out.3. The tread is much better for walking on fresh cut grass than most of the shoes that have provide a good gripe because it does not pick up a lot of grass and mud. I keep a stiff bristle brush next to my sliding door to go back into my house in order to clean the glass and mud off of my shoes. There is not much grass and mud on these even after walking in very wet early morning grass.4. I noticed that the tread was a little slippery when walking on my vinyl kitchen flooring when I first walked around with them indoors. But that issue seems to have disappeared after a couple of days.5. The opening is small. Some reviewers have complained about that. However, I have been able to step into them without resorting to bending down and using my finger to keep the backs up as my feet slide in. So, I have not had any issues with the smaller than normal opening. The natural flexibility allows my feet to slide in.All-in-all, I like these shoes. They can be stepped into and worn out when the grass is wet without getting the socks wet. That is why I bought them.

Just what I was looking for
I am a birder, and wanted footwear that would keep me dry while traversing wet grass, muddy areas, and shallow water in warmer weather, hence the purchase of the Muckster II low. I tried them on when they arrived, and almost returned them because they were very tight, almost enough to restrict circulation while I was seated. But the length was okay, so I called the Muck Boot company, and spoke with a helpful customer service agent. She said they would stretch a bit, and she was right. The first thing that helped was the impression my feet made in the foot beds. On day one they felt better while standing or walking because I think my weight compressed the foot bed enough to relieve some of the pressure. After several bird outings during which I walked over a mile on each occasion, they now have conformed to the shape of my foot, and are still snug but not uncomfortably so, even when wearing thicker socks. That's good because it means I don't have to worry about them coming off or my heel riding up, which happened occasionally on my first outing while walking on sloped terrain. (That is no longer an issue.) So now they're broken in, and I am glad I didn't return them. They're what I wanted. They're fine for longer treks out in nature. The best feature: I can walk through wet, muddy areas, and they're usually clean again by the time I return to my vehicle, especially if I find a puddle on the way.

Goes on and off easily. Warm and comfortable. UPDATED!
I was unsure just what to expect. So far, these are warm, solid and fit perfectly for me. I ordered the 10-10.5 size. The opening is actually quite small and narrow. I was surprised just how easy it was though to slip the front of my foot in first and then just holding the back 'loop tag', it was easy to push the rest of my foot in all the way. It's best to run your finger all around the lip to smooth it out but if you just keep walking it will also smooth out. I got these for yard work but haven't done any yet. I've been wearing these all around, running errands etc. Warm and comfortable. The Moss green is a dark green and I'm not self conscious wearing to the store. It's been rainy and some snow and so far, proving waterproof as advertised. Yard work should test them better. They slip off easier than putting on. If these hold up this yard season, I'll be a loyal buyer in the future.UPDATED 12/22/18:So I've worn these all through summer yard work and into winter and love them even more! Still water tight, keep my feet warm and rinse off easily or brush off with a broom.

Runs narrow
I bought a pair of these 4 years ago. Great gardening shoes! Excellent traction and super comfortable. My only complaint is how quickly the soles wore out. Even so, I bought another pair to replace the tread bare pair. The new ones will be returned. They are way too narrow and too long. Same size as the old ones. They are much stiffer and clearly not as well made as the previous pair. They might be made by “The Original Muck Boot Company” but these are not the original Muck Boots.
