These are impossible to tighten by yourself if you are strapping something to the top of your car for example. Someone had to pull on one side while the other closed the clamp. It was too difficult without the crank mechanism. I returned them to get some thing that could be ratcheted.

These are my 2nd set of straps. I use these primarily for strapping down my OC1 canoe on my roof rack. The rubber cover on the clamp protects my car from any dings and scratches which is a huge factor of why I bought these. They are also pretty think and made of durable material. I don't worry at all about these breaking or loosening at all. Overall a great investment if you want to transport items securely on your car.

These work really well for holding the paddle board to the top of the golf cart. Haven’t had any issues with them

I love these straps, they're thick and well made and have held up great over multiple trips so far and still look brand new. Initially it was a little difficult to open the clasp as it took some pressure to overcome the spring and the rubber. But after a couple trips it broke in nicely and now they work like butter. I would definitely recommend these for anyone looking for a quality set of kayak straps. The rubber works great to make sure you don't leave scratches on your vehicle.

Great quality overall, and I really like the little loop at the end that allows me to hold the strap together once I have wound it up for storage.

The good: well made, seem bombproof, not very likely to fail on you. But the rubber jacket that surrounds the buckle to protect paint on vehicles makes it hard to route the strap. I'm on top of my van, sometimes it seems easy and sometimes it seems impossible. Not sure why it varies, but I'm likely going to just go with NRS regular straps. I don't care about having a perfect paint job.

I did not receive the waterproof synch bag that was included with my order. Tried out the straps today for my SUP and they did work well.

I've been so impressed with the quality of these straps, that I purchased a second set to keep in my wife's car. We do our fair share of surfing and canoeing, and these have held up really well. The metal clamps are durable and easy to use. Other straps with the double loop configuration are so much more cumbersome than this single clamp design. They come with a handy storage sack to make sure they can always be neatly stowed.
