Warchal Russian Style A String

As a violist originally, I think violin A strings are incredibly problematic. None of the synthetics I've played on seem to handle the extra arm weight terribly well (even Evahs, at least not on my instrument). This is the only A string I've found that has a wonderfully full and round tone while still maintaining its pitch with a slightly arm-heavy violist at the helm. I love this string so much, I've already invested in a second one for when this one is finished. Probably the only A string I'll use going forward because it has seemed to blend incredibly well with every set of strings it is matched with. Right now I have Evahs on my D & G with a Goldbrokat E. I've also used it previously with Obligatos, and I was equally pleased.

This is a VERY fantastic sounding A string. On my setup. Works amazing with Pirastro Tonica set. Works even better With Warchal Brilliant (Vintage). Have this on a german vintage violin.

By far the best A string I have ever played on. Easy under the fingers, powerful without being harsh, beautiful tone in the sense that it's warm without being muddy, and can deliver a large dynamic range. Each note sounds clear all the way up the fingerboard unlike some synthetic strings and is very very stable. Also lasted me about two years before i ended up replacing it since it's steel.

The best A string I use.

I was using the Warchal Karneol strings. The A string sounded a bit dead after while. I tried the Russian A and I am quite pleased with it. It really rounds out the Karneol set.

I finally got around to trying this string. I have a very nice violin, but I've never been able to find an A string that worked well on the instrument. This one does. Fantastic!

This is a wonderful string. Not shrill at all. It's the only A string that sounds good on my violin, and I have tried many brands.
