WARNING! Do not use with AmazonBasics USB 3 Cable + MBP!
WARNING!! Do not use with Amazon Basics USB 3 Cable AmazonBasics USB 3.0 Cable - A-Male to Micro-B - 3 Feet (0.9 Meters) and a newer Macbook Pro!It will knock your wifi connection out to pieces. After almost a year of pulling my hair out I've discovered that the Adapter + this cable = complete knockout of your WIFI signal. You will go mad. You will pull out your own eyeballs. You will spend HOURS on the phone with Apple support.. only to realize, ages later, that although this sturdy-looking cable works great with an Apple branded USB C Adapter... and the good-looking CableCreations brushed steel adapter works great with a crappy basic cable -- THEY DO NOT WORK TOGETHER! You won't be able to use your wifi at all until you physically unplug the combo from whatever port you have.Hope I can save you a little of the anguish I have experienced all year round.

Like others have mentioned
Like others have mentioned, it causes wifi to stop working, this is a cheaply made product and it interferes with the wifi signal. As soon it is unplugged, the wifi starts working again. Do a google search for usb cable causes wifi to drop and you can see this is a real problem and not something I'm making up because somehow I'm too dumb to use simple technology.

interferes with wireless signals
Wonderful little device. Sturdy, attractive, and transfers data fast. Bought it to hook up my external hard drive to my Macbook Pro 2019.The problem is that it interferes with wireless signals. Apparently, this is a real thing with USB-C adapters. I found this out after buying this. Many (if they're not insulated properly) will emit radio signals that interfere with your computer's wifi and bluetooth and other signals. It happened to me; my computer kept losing its wifi signal when I had this plugged in. The fix is to use your router's 5ghz, because the adapter only interferes with 2.4ghz; but my router unfortunately doesn't have 5ghz. Another fix I found online is to just wrap the adapter's cord in aluminum foil. That definitely solved the wifi problem, and it no longer drops. But it still interferes a little with my wireless mouse (the cursor jumps around; dragging and dropping items acts erratically, etc); it doesn't do it excessively, but enough to be annoying. So, now I'll have to buy a replacement, one that doesn't have the wireless interference problem.

Good product - mixed results on Galaxy Tab S3
This is a well built OTG adaptor. The cable is stiff, with a braided cover and the USB C connector looks like it is gold plated. The stiffness means it tends to stick out straight, rather than hang limp. The USB socket is a bit tight. As a result, it can take a little effort to fully insert the plug. If you have trouble reading a drive, check to see that it is fully inserted.I was able to use it with USB flash drives with no problems. However, my SD card reader would not work. The tablet showed that it was connected, but I got an "Error reading file" when opening the drive. I'm sure that this is not the fault of the adaptor, but some quirk of the tablet. I mention it only as information for other users of the Galaxy Tab S3.

Works fine for adding a USB-A connection to my laptop.
I use this to allow me to plug my mouse into a usb-c connector when the other usb ports are in use. For this application, it has been fine. I have also tried it for connecting a USB drive to my android phone, and it works for that. Physically, I prefer the two connectors on a short cable to a rigid adapter with no cable, because it puts less strain on the mating usb-c socket and the short braided cable on this is flexible and nicely attached to the connectors. The connectors are high quality.

Really like the 90-Degree (update, broke after 4 months)
UPDATE: After a few months, the adapter failed. The contacts and plastic inside the USB-C plug pushed way back into the plug barrel. It no longer works. I hope it is an anomaly, because I was really liking this up until the point of failure.----The 90-degree turn on the connector really helps with strain relief. And it keeps the cord out of the way of things like coffee cups, phones, and other things on the desk. Even more important on an airplane because it keep the cord from catching on everything around you.Good quality and fits snug.I prefer this 90-degree bend over other dongles and those stub-types (no cord). If you bump or tug the cable, you're much less likely to cause an intermittent disconnect.SPEED:I have a portable SSD drive capable of 480 MB/sec. I attached the drive using this cord, and was able to write a the full speed. (Saved a 1GB file, 90 minute video, in 2.3 seconds). So yes, it delivers the USB-3.0 speed specification of 5Gbit/sec (roughly 500M-byte per second).

I Foolishly Purchased a New MacBook
I foolishly purchased a new MacBook, which, like most recent Apple products, seems to be designed more for the corporation’s convenience, arrogance, and insatiable lust for profits than for the user experience of me, the consumer. I previously was able to plug my camera’s memory card, my headphones, and external hard drives directly into my computer. Now all of those things require dongles of various sorts, or a multi-port, and for this lack of convenience I shelled out hundreds of dollars more than previous laptops that included such basic niceties . If you’ve made a similar poor choice, this will allow you to use some of the things that you otherwise could no longer use. Enjoy the progress.

Didn't work.
It didn't work for as intended. I wanted to use it to connect a USB camera to my phone or USB flash drive to my phone. Did not work at all. I purchased a 3 pack of adapters without the short cable that work fine but that makes a long solid connection to the USB-C port of my phone, I was hoping the short piece of wire this adapter provided would give me some flexibility over the adapters.

Great quality, But not for MacBook Pro 2016, don't buy it.
This cable is of high quality. The gold plated connection, the "Space grey" colour matched my MacBook really well. However, USB 3.0 uses 2.4gz frequency. This causes issues with the Wi-Fi connection of the cable isn't properly isolated. So this cable/adaptor isn't suitable. It's great quality! Anything other then the latest MacBook I'm sure it's useable, but due to the design of MacBook Pro 2016, just buy the Belkin cables.

Excellent right angle USB-C OTG cable.
I purchased this OTG cable in February ‘17 and it’s still going strong connecting my phone to a Audioquest Firefly Red and Cobalt USB DAC.I like the fact the connection coming out of the phone is a right angle as it puts far less pressure on the socket. I was thinking of picking up a spare just in case but to be honest I don’t think I need one. This is a quality little cable that I would and have recommended.

Great cable for iMac
Can't find any fault with this cable. Nice sturdy braided cable and snug fit for USB to external hard drive connected to USB-C Thunderbolt port of 2017 iMac. Quality piece of kit at a sensible price. Well done CableCreation.

Works fine, a little sharp around some of the metal ...
New MacBook means it's the curse of the dongles.Works fine, a little sharp around some of the metal edges of the plugs, but very secure connections and no data loss. Matches colour nicely with space grey.

Durable and well made
Like others (I imagine) I trawled the internet for a half decent adapter for my Mac. So many products look great in the picture and come half broken in the box. This product is DURABLE, WELL MADE and most importantly WORKS WELL.If you are looking for a durable adapter for your Mac- this one is good.
