Q: What chipset/bridge controller does "enclosure usb 3.1 gen 2" use?

Q: Does this enclosure support trim?

I'm following up my own question. I found out how to get it to work. My SSD drive supports TRIM (Samsung 850 EVO). It was not showing up in "Optimize Drives" tool, because it was formatted as ExFAT. I reformatted to NTFS, and now the drive shows up the "Optimize Drives" tool. I can now TRIM the drive with this UGREEN enclosure. I hope this helps anyone else who was getting frustrated. Apparently for Windows, TRIM only works with NTFS-formatted SSD and NOT ExFAT-formatted SSD.

Q: I've read other reviews that state the included cable doesn't work well. Has the included cable been replaced with one that works?

The included cable works well AND gives you a wider range of ports to use. My desktop has both Gen 2.1 A-C plus the 3.1 standard ports. Due to chipset translation, you get fastest data when connected directly to motherboard sata ports. For a standard SSD this is fine as you will never miss the 20 to 40 MB/s difference.
