Dodging speeding cars, crazed cabbies and eight million cranky pedestrians is all in a day’s work for Wilee (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), the best of New York’s agile and aggressive bicycle messengers. It takes a special breed to ride the fixie - super lightweight, single-gear bikes with no brakes and riders who are equal part skilled cyclists and nutcases who risk becoming a smear on the pavement every time they head into traffic. But a guy who’s used to putting his life on the line is about to get more than even he is used to when his last envelope of the day - a routine “premium rush” run - turns into a life or death chase through the streets of Manhattan.Special Features: Two featurettes: • “The Starting Line – Meet The Cast” • “Behind The Wheels – Featurette on the Action, Stunts and Chases” Bonus materials include two behind-the-scenes featurettes: “The Starting Line: Meet the Cast,” which highlights the cast and creative development, and “Behind the Wheels: Featurette on the Action, Stunts and Chases,” providing a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to do one of the riskiest jobs around.

Feel the rush!!
This is a great little film. It had me laughing out loud every couple of minutes. The plot is pretty simple; the action scenes are great the tricks are ok. The thing that makes this film special is the cast. When you have a cast with great chemistry, and are 100% committed it shows on the screen. I also have to give all the actors credit on their training regimen the effort they put into looking/becoming their characters is exemplary.Willie is the top bike messenger in New York City. He cuts between traffic, through pedestrians, and any other obstacles to deliver his package on time. He rides a steel frame bike with only one ultra-high gear and no breaks. The same way he lives his life always going forwards never stopping. Willie's main rival at work and for the affections of his girlfriend is Manny, the second fastest rider who will do anything to undercut Willie. Once again it is impressive how much research and time has been done for this movie everything looks and feels authentic from the characters look, to their attitude and mannerisms. Willie is given a package to deliver across New York City. The trouble is someone else want it and is willing to do anything to get it.Great chase scenes, with bikes vs. cars, bikes vs. bikes, bikes vs. people. This film is truly original, really funny and entertaining. After watching this you will appreciate all the hard work from everyone involved in this film to make something magical. Watch it you won't regret it.

FAST & FURIOUS 4 STAR FUN, ON THE STREETS OF THE BIG APPLE.
This is a review of the very good 2013 All Region Blu-ray from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. It comes with some extras. This 2012 film was directed and co-written by David Koepp. Koepp has directed a small number of moderately well-received films, but as a screenwriter, he is in a small, select band of mega-successful writers. He was the man behind several of cinema’s biggest hits from the late 1990s onwards, including ‘Jurassic Park’(1993) and it’s first sequel(1997); ‘Carlito’s Way’(1993); ‘Spiderman’(2002) and ‘War of the Worlds’(2005). The huge Box Office gross of his titles suggests Koepp really knows how to grab the attention of an audience, and then how to get them talking, thus bringing in the crowds. In general terms, the secrets of his success are an exciting, well-paced and coherent story, rounded and likeable characters, and a certain novelty value. This film certainly has most of the above ingredients. It is emphatically a one-off, a story not told in this way before, though set in the familiar surroundings of New York’s streets and parks. This however, is New York seen in a new way, from the saddle of a courier bike, fast, furious, and decidedly risky. The story is simple and engaging. The characters are fun, if slightly under-developed. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a talented actor with a repertoire ranging from comedy ~ he received multiple award nominations for his part in sitcom ‘Third Rock from the Sun’(1996-2001) ~ to sci-fi films like Inception’(2010) and biopics such as ’Lincoln’(2012). Here he has great fun as the courier rider without brakes, who ends up inadvertently drawing the attention and ire of more than one of New York’s finest. One of these is the wonderful Michael Shannon, who routinely excels as slightly disheveled and stressed baddies ~ TV series ‘Boardwalk Empire’(2010-2014) for which he received multiple award nominations; ‘The Shape of Water’(2017). Here, he is again, an unpleasant, remorseless bad guy.The film was made on the streets of New York during mid-summer 2010. Gordon-Levitt even managed to genuinely collide with a taxi during shooting. And it must have been absolutely cooking, in amongst the taxis and trucks, and the high rise plate glass exteriors and asphalt of the city’s streets. Koepp directs with verve and unstoppable pace; the cast peddle, sweat and give us an entertaining, amusing line in back-chat, street-speak and repartee. There is plenty of excitement, some splendidly filmed and funny set pieces, and some clever uses of a non-linear time line, to break up the action. If I have a criticism, it is that the action goes full pelt so quickly that it robs the film of an ability to insert some light and shade. There are changes of pace, but I found myself wanting Koepp to take his foot off the pedal more often. So, clever, fun, and nicely entertaining, but slightly flat.

Decent Enough Film, Great Action, Good Acting, Trimmed Down HD Quality, Could Have Been Better.
Purchased this as a HD rental whilst on offer, I'm glad I did, its a great film with great action scenes all-round, great acting to, & decent enough story-line but I do think the story could have been made far better as I find they are many gaps in the script in my opinion, the stunts could have been far better to with more equipment & locations utilized to give a far greater effect.... The soundtrack could have been better to, but all in all a decent enough film.I do think however this film could be enjoyed so much more on blu-ray than the rental, the quality even in HD is poor even with high-bandwidth internet, you can tell this film been trimmed down immensely for the rental version quality-wise, the film barely touches DVD quality most of the time both in picture & sound, I think I would have enjoyed this film so much more on blu-ray, in full-quality to enjoy the full effect.Still to conclude its worth watching, I enjoyed it but felt it could have been much better.

Vanessa: "Holy shit! That was the most fun I ever had with my cloth on!"Kurzweilig, unterhaltsam, zum immer wieder mal zwischendurch Anschauen wenn man eine gute Zeit verbringen will, oder sich nicht aus Eigeninitiative aus seiner Lethargie reissen kann.
