Prince of Grand Street / Soundtrack.

AT LAST! This show closed out of town in 1978 but it features one of Bob Merrill's greatest scores now heard for the first time in a recording. Mike Burstyn takes the role played by Robert Preston and does a great job playing the lead character that was inspired by Yiddish Theatre legend Boris Thomashefsky. Brooke Sunny Moriber (another fine singer) is also featured. Kudos to Original Cast Records (the folks who brought you "The Baker's Wife", "In Trousers", "The Robber Bridegroom" and many other killer scores) for bringing us this jewel. If you love musical theatre do yourself a favor and buy this. I'm sure, like I, you will love it.
