Most excellent
As I opened the envelope and took this book out, I was excited. A neat size, rather than the usual recipe books, bloated with photographs, this is appealing. I flicked through to get a feeling and immediately found myself wanting to get into the kitchen to start. The recipes are easy to follow, even for a novice like myself, and I have been planning meals from it from that first day. My family have benefited from delicious meals since. Importantly, this is not a book solely for vegetarians. The fact that the dishes are meat-free should not be a reason not to buy. These tasty and nutricious dishes are delightful as they are or many can accompany meat. For example, I made the cheese and herb damper (incredibly easy) and we ate it, first with a casserole, then for supper I grated cheese on slices of it and grilled, to eat with olives. Beautiful. And it is such incredible value for money. Recommend purchasing for yourself AND do your friends a favour - treat them to a copy as a gift.

Tasty pictures but lacks insight
This book is a good little book to have on the kitchen shelf, but to me it lacked that a vegetarian's insight. It felt like it had been written by a meat eater (like many vegetarian recipes in cooking magazines), and a lot of the recipes didn't feel like complete meals to me.Pros: Interesting recipes which I haven't seen elsewhere, and with plenty of mouthwatering pictures. Also a great plus is that every recipe comes with a variation, which are ideas I've often nicked and applied to other recipe books.Cons: Too dairy heavy (definitely agree with other reviews here), small sizes makes it difficult to use in the kitchen (and harder to read)

Meat eater loves Veggies!
I am not a vegetarian, I like my bit of meat from time to time, but I also love veggies: they are so versatile and tasty! This book is really a great addition to any kitchen, it includes lovely clearly explained recipes, the ingredients used are not outlandish and impossible to get and the taste! The taste is wonderful.I just cooked the broad bean and dill pesto (refreshing with the zing of lemon), the aubergine dip and the leek and thyme sausages with relish, cheese and leek 'sausages' with a sweet red onion-cranberry relish. It was more a banquet than a simple everyday dinner, we all loved it!Each recipe is accompanied by a gorgeous picture. The only thing I don't like is the grayish brown colour on the cover ;)And it's also really cheap! Just try it.

Ive purchased 15 of these.. does that tell you how good it is?
A friend brought one of these into work.. passed it round for a few of us veggies to look at.. Im a fussy veggie but I found many more recipies that made my mouth water than Ive ever seen in any veggie cook book before.I ordered one for me and one for a colleage.. and soon all the veggies in the office wanted one too!!!I have a feeling that the 15 I have ordered will be followed by further purchases of this fantastic little book as the word spreads.PS Had the sweetcorn fritters the other day and they were wonderful!Ignore the rest.. buy the best, and no, Im not on commision!

Good things come in small packages
This is a lovely little hand-sized cook book. Each recipe has its own page followed by a full colour picture of the finished dish. Quite a few dishes can be made within 30 minutes which is ideal for busy people. Preparation and cooking times are noted at the beginning of each recipe. The book contains a wide variety of recipes from simple to more complex. All of the dishes are suitable for vegetarians but there is a limited number of vegan recipes, although a seasoned vegan cook should be able to get ideas and adapt recipes to meet their needs.

Cheese Overload!
I bougth this book as I'm trying to reduce my meat intake, and I needed a little inspiration. Although this cookbook is beautifully illustrated, I was slightly disappointed with the over reliance on cheese. To me, the writer has made that typical mistake by replacing meat with tons of cheese!I have only tried a couple of recipes, and the American styled cornbread seems to go down well with the family. However, I don't use this cookbook as frequently as I thought I would when I ordered it - for reasons outlined above.

Good concise instructions, like the use of unusual ingreidents gave me ideas to add other ingridients as well.
like the concise instructions, like the pictures, gave me my own ideas to add other products to the recipe. I ordered it because of the problems with meat at the moment and it gave me the ideas to cook other dishes without using meat. This was important to me that is why I gave it this rating.

handy size
not being 100% vegetarian I just wanted some exciting different vegetable dishes and i have found plenty of ideas in this book, nice handy size, the only thing I have against it, is doesn't give the calorie count, good book though.
